Question by Sharon S: What do you think of Arnoldis Chapman having shoulder fatigue? His velocity is down to 94 miles per hour. Dusty Baker is concerned for him. Do you think this will really affect the reds chances getting into the postseason and beyond? This was just reported by ESPN.

Answer by Fozzy I guess that Dusty has figured out a way to screw up reliever’s arms as well.
Seriously – any pitcher who gets fatigued pitching 67.2 innings either was damaged goods before the season began or has some serious mechanical issues.
And yes, if it is true, it will greatly affect the Red’s chances. The only legitimate replacement the Reds have is Marshall, and he would be a tremendous drop off. Also note that Baker has a lot of fairly young starting pitchers with a high amount of innings pitched as well, which could affect them in the playoffs also.
