It’s come to my attention that apparently a large portion of ace/aro-spec Shiro icons out there were made by a/ntis. So I made some for shaladin shippers or just for people who don’t want to associate with a/ntis. Enjoy! (I’m hoping I got the right aro and demi-aro flags? There seemed to be multiple, so I went with the ones I’ve seen more of)

When watching movies, Shiro complains about romance.

While he doesn’t when in real life, Shiro gets really angry in case of the forced romantic subplot (he’s fine with movies focusing on romance). When team voltron finds out, they make sure to choose movies without any.

Let's talk about aro shiro, shall we

The poor boy never actually thought of that stuff.

Even before garrison has was just hanging out with Matt.

And when Matt fell in love with Keith (or not of that's not your thing) he even helped him to get to know him and everything

The thing is it had him thinking about himself.

He realized he'd never spend time talking about romance compared to Matt.

So he decided to talk to him

He told him how he never felt attraction in that sense and how he never even realized the lack of those feelings.

Matt unfortunately told him the inevitable. “You'll find someone who's right for you. The school here can be tough and it was probably just occupying your mind too much.”

However as time went on (presumably Keith and Matt started dating, making shiro feel even weirder) he came to the fact he can't even imagine himself feeling something similar.

So he did his research.

He found out about being aromanric either on the Internet or in the garrison library and was pretty much baffled by how it fits.

And once again he went to tell Matt.

Matt was surprised and apologized for saying the “not finding the right person”stuff. He confessed it didn't even occur to him and that he didn't really know much about aromanticism.

He promised to try to help shiro

So the rest of the year went by quite nice.

He was insecure and being really careful and cautious about his approach at first, but as it went by he became more and more comfortable with it.

When the cerberos mission came, at least he had no regret  leaving the earth. He thought that maybe being almost alone out there would even help him clear his head.

Needless to say, it didn't go quite that well

So when he returned and was rescued by what was to be team voltron he was really glad. All the work defeating zarkon could distract him.

However he noticed how bit by bit among the team, there were pairs coming to existence.

Shiro spending hours in training room alone, just because he felt uncomfortable around others in his free time

Shiro on long flights in his lion, spending hours doing bonding exercises.

He realized he actually does need physical contact after the abduction. But he didn't know what to do or say.

Eventually, he decided to come out to pidge.

She listened to him and then told everyone.

This lead to increase in the platonic contact inside the team.

Hugs before every mission

Good night kisses that first originated as a joke but ended up being a ritual.

I just have lots of feelings about aro shiro.

Shiro falling asleep on people. 

When they’re doing bonding exercises, just talking... He doesn’t get enough sleep at night and everyone knows this. Everyone is more than happy to lend a shoulder or lap to the sleepy baby
