How YOU doing?
I’m doing fine, how bout you?
Is the imminent extinction of bees starting to affect your tattoo, Eric?
buzz buzz
80's song asks: UPtown GIRL, back in black, walk this way, walk like an egyptian, the time of my life, you spin me round, how will I know, sweet child o' mine, under pressure, like a virgin
uptown girl: what’s your favourite book trope?
The moment when the hero decides that enough is enough, and despite all of their fears and anxieties, which the author will describe are still there but aren’t controlling them anymore, they decide that it’s time to make a stand. It makes my hair stand on end every single time. For a masterfully executed example see The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett
back in black: what makes a good rock song?
There are a few things, but one is bass. Not necessarily the instrument, but many of the rock/metal songs I like have plenty of low sounds. Not just from the bass and drums, but the guitar and vocals also play/sing at lower octaves.
Also, I like my rock with tension built up on every note, and dramatically released at the top of a large crescendo. Few things in a song leave me more angry and disappointed than a song with a well written verse that builds up the tension, only to throw it all away with a really upbeat chorus. This was THE most common thing in the 90s and I absolutely hate it.
walk this way: what was the most expensive thing you bought in the last six months?
A Lyft from downtown LA to Westwood at 1am in the new year. At midnight my dad and I saw the prices were at around $20 (at a 2-3x surcharge) and decided to wait for it to drop. We waited an hour and ended up paying $80
walk like an egyptian: favourite song currently in the charts?
Answering that question would require me knowing what songs currently are in the charts. I don’t think I have listened to any songs released later than 2016 for months
(i’ve had) the time of my life: if you could relive any ten minutes of your life, what would you relive?
A second first kiss that was four years in the waiting
you spin me round (like a record): favourite modern cover of an older song?
In The Air Tonight - In This Moment
how will i know: do you believe everyone is deserving of love?
I think deserving is the wrong word. I genuinely believe everyone can find someone who loves them, and sometimes it will take no effort to receive this love, though making zero effort will usually cause this love to wither. But no one is automatically entitled to being loved by anyone else
sweet child o’ mine: describe your perfect first date.
We get a room, we get naked, we get busy, we get pizza, we eat pizza naked while talking random shit, repeat three previous steps until we physically can’t anymore
under pressure: give an example of a world event that occurred the year you were born.
While technically not properly a world event, the beginning of the Human Genome Project
like a virgin: share a controversial opinion.
The Beatles are overrated. Their songs have been performed well in some covers, but most of their own renditions are not very impressive
I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T SEE THAT YOU REBLOGGED THE PLAYLIST THINGY! Anyway, title: This is us.
Added them mostly for the lyrics, and I know you haven’t heard most of them, so I suggest listening for the lyrics/looking them up
Mr. Brightside - The Killers
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Bedroom Hymns - Florence and the Machine
Freak Like Me - Halestorm
Here We Are - Icon For Hire
The Pot And Kettle - The Rumjacks
You Can’t Kill Us - Icon For Hire
I'll try to send you numbers you haven't sent me... 3, 4, 9, 10, 13, 16, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 33, 40, 47, 49, 58, 65 - Tell me something cool you've learned during your stay in America. It can be related to your academic life or housekeeping or weird American things or whatever.
3. The person you would never want to meet?
I can’t think of a single person I would never like to meet. I think I’d like to meet even the most despicable people. Especially the most despicable people. I’d love to know how do they see the world and themselves.
4. What is your favorite word?
Mongaguá
9. Bright room or dark room?
Is this for lighting or colors? For colors dark. For lighting, dark for the aesthetic, but light for when I need to actually see shit.
10. What were you doing at midnight last night?
The hardest thing in the world, hanging up from a call with @arobotunicorn
13. Your worst enemy?
Myself
16. The last song you listened to?
Dead South - In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company
19. If anyone could be your slave for a day, who would it be and what would they have to do?
Anyone to do my grading for me and clean my bedroom and bathroom, I really need to get around to cleaning those...
20. What is your best physical attribute? (showing said attribute is optional)
My hair looks pretty awesome, especially when my side cut game is on. Pics when I get it redone.
23. What is one unique thing you’re afraid of?
I think I don’t have many unique fears, I’m hella basic in that aspect. Mostly I fear rejection, failure, not meeting expectations and spiders.
24. You can only have one kind of sandwich. Every sandwich ingredient known to humankind is at your disposal.
Oh boy, OH FUCKING BOY!! Let’s start with the bread. I’d want a long bread so I could cram a lot of stuff into this monster sandwich to be, and also hard enough so it wouldn’t break as I ate it. I think a baguette would be ideal. The filling would have the tastiest juiciest burger shaped exactly to fit inside the bread. It would have some delicious cheese, though I still have to think what would be the best kind to go here. Add some fried egg on top of it and some bacon, because bacon is life. Maybe add just a little bit of barbecue sauce, just enough to give a taste, but not too much to overshadow all the rest. Ah, perfection!
26. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave immediately. Where are you going to go?
Viking lands! Somewhere around Norway, above the polar arctic circle, where I can see the midnight sun, and, if I get to stay for a long time, hopefully the northern lights.
33. The Celestial Gates Of Beyond have opened, much to your surprise because you didn’t think such a thing existed. Death appears. As it turns out, Death is actually a pretty cool entity, and happens to be in a fantastic mood. Death offers to return the friend/family-member/person/etc. of your choice to the living world. Who will you bring back?
Nala, my labrador dog, who passed away a few years back.
40. Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?
I guess sunrises. Both are beautiful, and it’s much easier to be awake for sunsets, but staying awake to see the sun rise with someone puts you in the spot where all the masks come off and conversations are between raw people
47. If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be?
Does our anxiety get any better?
49. If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create?
Direwolves and eagles! Flying wolf mount!!
58. What would be you dream car?
I know very little about cars, but something I could floor on the highway, since I hate driving in the city anyway.
65. Tell me something cool you've learned during your stay in America. It can be related to your academic life or housekeeping or weird American things or whatever.
You never realize how much you are used to the warmth of latino culture and how much it is actually important for your mental health until you are surrounded by people used to a very different personal distance
For the name playlist thing: Giuliana

Oxlip: Would you ever get into a long distance relationship?
-Platonically, absolutely! And I have/am. Romantically, I don’t think so because honestly I am a bit insecure and I’m a very physically needy person where I /need/ physical contact like I’m so needy that way.
