“It’s soo cold right? My nails hurt”, I grabbed her hand to inspect. I don’t know what came over me. Her palm was let loose just as abruptly as it was seized. If you haven’t been touched, perhaps some senses overcome you from time to time.
She usually hangs out with the guy from the other class in the break. It’s curious how his hands find ways around her. Mind you, windows are open, and the wind is wriggling arms around them too. It’s nosy to stare. In any case, i can’t touch. My hands know only to touch each other. In any case, she was the prettiest I had seen.
There was this other time. She asked me and i answered, i can’t lie. Neither can i pretend very well so all i could do was nip it at the bud. Maybe it was the dust that reddened her eyes after. Beneath the eyelashes that merged with her cheek, her face was obscure behind the surgical mask we all wore. I never asked what she saw in my eyes, if anything at all. It’s not my passion but I suppose I’m too good at it that it keeps happening. The girls. Fortunately, they all move on, surely they do. It’s vanity that keeps me in place. I’ve tried it with and without clothes, stretched my arm as far out I could, there’s little but a mushy chasm. Once when I tried real hard, my palm came out my back, i saw it clearly in the mirror. What of this, can i tell them now, it’s all too complicated. If i was a part of their world, i can’t imagine understanding it either.
