Torn// Ten and Rose// Pre-Verse
The Doctor grabs his companion's hand, tugging her along the familiar corridors of his ship. The TARDIS is trying her very best to help, materializing halls and randomly teleporting doorways to confuse their pursuer, but nothing can stop it from following their scent. Particularly, his scent. His hearts are pumping about a million beats a minute from the exertion, but his brain is only focusing on one detail. Her. And getting her the hell out of there.
There's something forming in the back of his mind, a plan of sorts, but its a crappy plan therefore a last resort plan. Although as they round another corner, he has to backtrack, pulling Rose with him when he sees the shadow waiting for them. They'd been running for a while and----oh. Human!
Reading his thoughts, a small alcove appears and the Doctor yanks Rose inside. "Catch your breath," he told her, knowing they'd have to leave again at any moment. His body pinned hers against the wall, his form a shield between what's hunting them out there and the solid protection of his ship. "We--we have to get to the console room! The TARDIS can activate CODE B8H5 lockdown while we're in there." Hushed and urgent, forced out through panting breaths. "It'll trap us, but we'll still have access to the ship's controls and we might be able to flush him out." Keyword he was oh so praying to Rassilon she wouldn't notice.
Eyes move from head to toe, scanning her for injuries. What he'd give to have her safe at home with Jackie at the mo'. Blimey, he'd even stand her mum's prattling for a few days if it meant Rose didn't have to be here. He closes his eyes and listens for vibrations, any signs of movement. "Are you ready? If we want to go, it needs to be now."
