If any other Night Lord owner has had a medical issue / surgery I feel for you if all of them are similar to Spook.
He was fine before I went up, sure that is would do better than Arrasan thought. And he was right, but now that I've been back and I'm following the doctors orders on rest and not doing much. He's so much more anxious. Big fella is hovering more than ever, and is hesitant to touch me at all right now. Seems to think I'll break if he does it wrong.
He's been attempting to be more helpful and stay mostly out of trouble. And is firm on waking me up to take my Tylenol on time and making sure I'm eating. He's still teasing me a little bit it's much more hesitant now. He's no apothecary for certain, but he seems to be trying to research more on what I had done. I've told him to not trust anything from Web MD since it'll just tell him I'm dying/cancer. And I don't need that panic from him.
He's been contacting the other local nightlords for hunting less. But they've only shown up here once. I was asked if they let me keep what they took out and two of them grinned when I said no. Not sure I even want to know what they would've done with it honestly. But apparently they're doing rounds now and then around the property. And making sure the Black Templar stays away while I'm recovering. Which is nice, but I'm 90% sure they're just bating him into chasing them in the opposite direction and flying away after a bit... Hopefully it doesn't turn into something bigger.
Both Spook and Arrasan aren't fond of being able to smell blood on me from the healing, but at least I know if I get an infection they'll tell me before I even notice probably. Just another way space marines are useful that most people don't seem to think about.
Arrasan is calmer now that I'm back, but has taken to offering to carry/hold things for me if he thinks they may be too heavy. Which seems to be most things as of now, but he at least listens when I tell him I'm strong enough to do some things. He's reinforced and done a few other things to the pullout couch and the flooring of the shed while I was gone. So now both him and spook can stay in the shed without doing any damage. We might end up expanding in the fall, just gotta ask my friend if she'd be ok with modifications.
The Death guard at the farm has sent his well wishes, but has not been allowed on property by either of my boys for obvious reasons. Sweet that he's thinking of me atleast, his human has sent over a few treats for recovery too that Arrasan heavily looked over before letting grab a lemon tart.
But yeah, if anyone gets sick/surgery with a bonded marine all I can say is prepare to be atleast semi fused over. And also be prepared to stand your ground on what you can and can't do while recovering or they might attempt to carry you everywhere.
