People arguing about Elwing and the Feanorians and who is right/wrong or good/bad physically pains me and misses the whole point. The issue is so much more complex than that and you CAN’T stuff them into neat little boxes labeled Good and Bad.

The whole thing is a freaking tragedy and people want to make it out to be good versus evil when it’s two groups with a cursed Oath, stubbornness and pride, and stolen property in the mix while the true evil watches from his throne cackling in glee because his enemies are fighting each other instead of him.
