4: which dragon species is your favourite?

oh. ohhhhhh!!! OHH!!!

i was actually thinking of this recently bc i was designing a httyd OC, and i was trying to find a dragon that would fit my character. and… this is a bit of a weird one, bc it’s barely shown in the films, but i’m gonna say a timberjack.

i just love those long skinny dudes!! they technically don’t have any legs but they use the the claws on their wings when they’re on the ground to walk sort of like a gheko. and their wings are so large and wide that they can curl them around into a makeshift tent, so a wee little viking can sit next in front of them with a little campfire and be surrounded by the dragon’s wings. they’re also very calm and quiet and prefer to inhabit forests.

plus, timberjacks are the closest design to my dragon designs. i haven’t drawn dragons in a while but when i used to, they’re always be long and skinny and move fluidly, and their faces would be thin with big pushed back horns. and that’s very similar to timberjacks. so, i kind of love them. look how graceful and majestic they are!

i also really, really dig the fact that their wings are razorsharp and they can cut through an entire forest if they so please. i really dig it. i should have said that right off the bat, honestly

(ok but i also love night furies.and light furies. sorry to be basic but.......... they are puppbies....)

9: which score was your favourite?

THE HIDDEN, and i cannot stress this enough, WORLD

i need to gush about this soundtrack. holy shit. i really didn’t think john powell would be able to top the first two soundtracks, and i thought THW’s soundtrack would be very similar with the same sound as the first two, but oh. i was not ready. not at all

the hidden world’s soundtrack is so beautiful it hurts. the first time i saw the film i couldn’t even listen to the soundtrack afterwards, bc it was making my heart hurt way too much. but now i’ve listened to it dozens of times and it still hurts my heart but god am i in LOVE WITH THAT SOUNDTRACK!!!  it’s so, so so whimsical and powerful and majestic. it fills up my heart every time i listen to it

i love every single track, it’s hard to pinpoint only a few, but i will say that every single piece of music dedicated to the light fury, or the light fury and toothless, or the ‘hidden world’ in general, is pure perfection. seriously. like Toothless: Smitten, Third Date, Furies In Love, The Hidden World…………. its all so overwhelmingly beautifully good. i really can’t get over it. it gives me goosebumps.

if i had to choose one track tho? one track that was my favourite from the hidden world soundtrack? definitely Once There Were Dragons. it fits in every single important theme from the film, and not only that, it calls back important themes from the very first film, which is what really gets me. as soon as i realised the OG forbidden-friendship-hand-touch music was being used in THW soundtrack, i was a goner

day 30

What a more fitting way to bow out of the 30-day challenge than to deliver a presentation/talk about the Postura Project? Gawad Kalinga invited me over to Ateneo for their CSI Night yesterday to talk about #PosturaPH. It felt really awkward and weird to come in there to talk about fashion, when usually, my talks are always about good governance or youth leadership or nation-building. I don't know, I felt like I was Kirsten Stewart and I was being asked to talk about how to be an amazing and respected actress. (... Meaning, I have absolutely zero credibility on the topic. *runs away from Twilight fans*) Better late than never: I finally got to don my Team Manila bag for my last hurrah! I will always have a special place in my heart (and closet) for Team Manila, because these guys give love-for-country a whole new meaning. This is the brand that first mainstreamed fashionalism - a decade ago, to be exact - when they slapped on aviators on our national hero and started emblazoning passion for the nation in big, bold Helvetica. Saludo! And since it's the 30th day, I figured -- I should do a levitating shot one last time, for old times' sake. I mean, who cares if I fully sprain my ankle this time around, right? My hair looks like it's glowing. Consider it an homage to Katniss, The Girl on Fire. day 28

Let me confess: This is actually for Day 30, but my Day 28 and 29 outfits were technically un-photographed. Well I guess this is the part where I have to come clean now, huh? *deep breath* My social life is kind of... on the rocks? On most days, I fly solo to meetings and events, which is probably the reason why I've developed the habit of talking to myself in public. Out loud. All the time. This is what I wore to the Platform Show last Sunday, a culture convention that turned the Ronac Art Center into a ridiculously inspiring force field of creativity and youthful energy. If you Google Map-ed the venue that day, the red dot would've probably been red, pulsing, and warm on your touch screen. If you weren't there -- believe me, you missed out. No rhyme or reason, just print on print on print on print! And check out my run-in with Aisa Ipac of Drowning Equilibriums below. Same outfit concept, different interpretations! I looooove her: she's so bubbly and funny and down-to-earth! After reviewing our photo, (we were under low light) she immediately exclaimed: "Ay girl, paputiin mo 'yan!"

day 27

"Work from home" usually means "working in pajamas," but what if you want to "wear pajamas to work," but you have three meetings that day? Here I attempt to approximate the feeling. Silk, sheer, bows, ribbons and polka dots. I mean, not to say that I wear this to bed. *snorts* Hardly. (Old ratty Ateneo Orsem/varsity shirts still make the best jammies ever.) day 25

This necklace is so completely girly, that I decided to go all out and unleash my inner Sugarplum Fairy (slash Koreanovela heroine, depending on how you see it). The puffy ballerina skirt is actually a hand-me-down from my sister. Who is 11 years old. And since we were already at it, we thought we might as well go with the whimsical school girl theme for the jump shot! Oh and, Game of Thrones fans, you might want to check out the clothing line of Catherine Jannelle (who made my necklace) -- all her pieces pay homage to the different characters in the book/series. I have a pink Sansa skirt that I can't wait to wear (although I like Arya's character a hundred times more, to be honest!).

day 24

Apologies for the lack of a decent jump/levitating shot -- at this point of the day (not to mention at this point of this whole challenge!), my ankles were already really, really mad at me for all the jumping. Also, as I was a bit caught up with making sure the security guards didn't get a free glimpse of my underwear as I jumped over and over again -- my facial muscles just kinda went into auto-derp mode :P But if it's any consolation, I jumped really high for this set.

In replacement, I give you a Jessica & Elizabeth Wakefield photo instead: And a Voltes V acrylic necklace from Crave More: I cannot, for the life of me, be in all neutral. It makes me feel... I don't know, un-me? ;)
