day 30
I've had this post up for a while but I've been procrastinating on publishing it. I guess I just didn't want the 30 days to end. But it's an inevitability. So here it goes :(
The Platform event was our culminating event. As the first convention for young creative culture, it was truly befitting to have Day 30 there. Here I am posing on the Postura wall made by the designers of the, "It's More Fun in the Philippines" logo. It's a lovely mishmash of flora and fashion by Sugar Perez and Monica Angeles!
Platform was held at the modern art hub, Ronac. I just had to have a stair shot. This is one of Ronac's signature architectural features.
Up close, you'll see my dainty Mich Dulce dress is very R Rated, but the print is precisely why I love this naughty but nice collection of hers. The construction and cut is girly but once you see what's on it, you can't help but be disturbed.
A collection of rings that I can only bring out on days I don't have to tap on the keyboard. The pink voodoo doll is special because I got it on a road trip around Laguna called Viaje del Sol. It was made in Patis Tesoro's hideaway, Kusina Salud. Aside from amazing food, they sell all sorts of fun local trinkets there. The white frilly one is new from Crave More :)
The four Postura fashion advocates posing on the Katrina Pallon creation.

On this last post, I'd like to thank everyone who helped us out. Marlo Ongpin who was the first one on my end who supported this project. This wouldn't have happened without all his technical web and video expertise. There's also Blue Endaya who built this site. Maui Mauricio who edited the video. Lau Laureno, the video's DoP. Johnoy Danao who lent us his music. Cholo Hermosa who helped with the score. If you're wondering what video I'm referring to, please click here. Gigi Lapid for the Postura Wall art consultancy. The artists/designers for the fabulous artworks: Soleil Ignacio, Katrina Pallon, Sugar Perez, Monica Angeles, and Tokwa Penaflorida who also did our logo design. THANK YOU GUYS!
This isn't the end of Postura so please stay tuned. The four of us just have to hunker down and plot out what's next. I have to send out love to Sarah, Arriane, and David. Their dedication, effort, and stylishness made Postura Project a dream project :)
day 30
Draped and tassled, asymmetrical and patterned. It's a whole lotta things, and loved is one of them.
Too much of a good thing? Never that. Keep the navy and white stripes coming.
Let the rings do the talking.
Rascals in flats.
My lovely six year old Postura photographer, and soon, possibly a Postura Project blogger (!) Kaya Ysabel, wearing a Kids of Bayo backless floral dress, and black ballet flats from Gingersnaps.
Top by Dimple Lim. Striped nautical mini skirt by Oxygen. Red ballet flats by Trunk Show Manila. Red, white, and blue woven clutch from Tiendesitas. Gold claw ring from Oxygen.
And that concludes the 30 Day Challenge!!!
Stay tuned as we continue to showcase the limitless potential of Filipino creativity here on posturaproject.com, as we continue to drop in daily with our outfit posts and features on some of the amazing people that are making this industry go around. I have passed the torch onto two incredible individuals, and am recruiting more - all of whom you'll get to meet in the coming weeks.
As for me, I'm going to keep on being local and vocal, and will proceed in sharing some of my favorite proudly Pinoy pieces here on the site, so keep creating and keep in touch!

day 29
Summer fresh. I'm a sucker for a grown up backpack. Matter of fact, my squad and I are all official members of my imaginary Corporate Backpack Club.
Antler makes accessories for every nail polish shade my neighborhood manicurista has. My kitchen has chopsticks for every opportune hair styling dilemma.
Because it doesn't always have to be so literal.
Want to know a secret? My jeans are falling off, but the belt looks cuter on the outside, where it has no chance to exercise the function it was intended for.
Shoes. Easy peasy. Color pop. Same material as my backpack. Let's call it a day.

day 29
The Postura Project experience has been a truly amazing one. I got to meet and work with new and talented people. And I got introduced to an array of Filipino brands that I would never have stumbled upon if I hadn't done this.
Before the 30 day challenge, I made sure to stock up on feature-worthy brands and for the longest time, I've wanted to buy a Rags 2 Riches bag. They employ the women of Payatas to create their cute quirky designer bags. They had to be part of the project!  But alas, whenever I dropped by their store in Cubao X, it was closed. (They sell weekdays only!) So  I was so happy when I met their marketing head, Crystal Anievas at a party. She hooked me up. Now, it looks like we're going to be working together for the brand! Power to serendipity!
I also got to meet and interview the creator of Filip+Inna, Len Cabili. She is one awe-inspiring lady. The dress I'm wearing is her design but infused with the creativity and workmanship of the weavers of Lake Sebu. Please read more about her brand on my blog musamanila.blogspot.com. They embody the Postura Project spirit to the core.
I donned my fave Filip+Inna dress for the Rags 2 Riches x Rajo Laurel launch. Behind me are their new line of bags! Check out the collection, entitled Athethenique here!

Thank you to Marlo Ongpin for the photos.
day 30
What a more fitting way to bow out of the 30-day challenge than to deliver a presentation/talk about the Postura Project? Gawad Kalinga invited me over to Ateneo for their CSI Night yesterday to talk about #PosturaPH. It felt really awkward and weird to come in there to talk about fashion, when usually, my talks are always about good governance or youth leadership or nation-building. I don't know, I felt like I was Kirsten Stewart and I was being asked to talk about how to be an amazing and respected actress. (... Meaning, I have absolutely zero credibility on the topic. *runs away from Twilight fans*) Better late than never: I finally got to don my Team Manila bag for my last hurrah! I will always have a special place in my heart (and closet) for Team Manila, because these guys give love-for-country a whole new meaning. This is the brand that first mainstreamed fashionalism - a decade ago, to be exact - when they slapped on aviators on our national hero and started emblazoning passion for the nation in big, bold Helvetica. Saludo! And since it's the 30th day, I figured -- I should do a levitating shot one last time, for old times' sake. I mean, who cares if I fully sprain my ankle this time around, right? Good photo > Working ankle. #Priorities (But to be safe, I used my left leg this time.) ---------------------------------------------- Best-fitting blazer of all time - Culte Femme Necklace made from root nut & crushed bottle glass - Island Girl Ethnic print tote bag - Team Manila Green belt - The Ramp Neon bracelet - Rex Clothing 'Nom' tansan ring - Junk Studio Woven green bangle - Cebu/Manila F.A.M.E. I'm getting a little sentimental about how our 30-day Postura challenge is coming to a close. It's been such a wonderful experience, getting to be local and vocal on this level, and getting to know all these Filipino brands just bursting with innovative designs and quality craftsmanship.
I'm starting to think about how to keep this alive, not only for me, but in my entire household, and how I can keep sharing with you. A chit chat with my co-Postura bloggers is in order!
Until then, thank you so much for your support - and by "you" I mean the apparel creators and the model citizens that have brought this project to life.
This is one thing I'm glad is contagious. Spread, spread, spread it!

day 29
My hair looks like it's glowing. Consider it an homage to Katniss, The Girl on Fire. Now where to find myself a Peeta... *searches in the mud for a rock-looking face/face-looking rock* (Major love to my amazing hair designers, Sir Jude & Ms. Rose of Juro Salon!) Sorry for the lack of levitation shots the past three posts. day 28
Let me confess: This is actually for Day 30, but my Day 28 and 29 outfits were technically un-photographed. Well I guess this is the part where I have to come clean now, huh? *deep breath* My social life is kind of... on the rocks? On most days, I fly solo to meetings and events, which is probably the reason why I've developed the habit of talking to myself in public. Out loud. All the time. This is what I wore to the Platform Show last Sunday, a culture convention that turned the Ronac Art Center into a ridiculously inspiring force field of creativity and youthful energy. If you Google Map-ed the venue that day, the red dot would've probably been red, pulsing, and warm on your touch screen. If you weren't there -- believe me, you missed out. No rhyme or reason, just print on print on print on print! And check out my run-in with Aisa Ipac of Drowning Equilibriums below. Same outfit concept, different interpretations! I looooove her: she's so bubbly and funny and down-to-earth! After reviewing our photo, (we were under low light) she immediately exclaimed: "Ay girl, paputiin mo 'yan!"
See photo on the right, above: O ano, maputi na ba enough, Paxie? ;) Haha <3

Thank you, Brian, for being my photographer that day! And and and: Make sure to check out my blog post and photos about Platform here.
day 27
"Work from home" usually means "working in pajamas," but what if you want to "wear pajamas to work," but you have three meetings that day? Here I attempt to approximate the feeling. Silk, sheer, bows, ribbons and polka dots. I mean, not to say that I wear this to bed. *snorts* Hardly. (Old ratty Ateneo Orsem/varsity shirts still make the best jammies ever.) And a little cameo -- spot Momma S! ;) White sheer top - Sleepyhead Clothing Blue polka dot shorts - The Ramp Nightgown/camisole - Landmark Bottle cap rings - Junk Studio Coffee art bangle - SM Accessories Ribbon necklace and bracelet - China street stall
day 27
The daintiest little vest I ever saw. Leatherette and piña, intricate fiber detail, studs? Catherine Jannelle, you have all the right ingredients.
Also wore this gold tassled Crave More necklace in this weekend's edition of Manila Bulletin's Style Weekend.
I know some people refer to these things as slave chains, which doesn't particularly sit well with me, but also leaves me with nothing to call it. Anyway. I love this thing. Eunice Alera was wearing it at Philippine Fashion Week one season, saw my eyeing it and gave it to me right off her wrist. I have not put the gift to waste.

day 28
This was taken at a party after a couple of rounds. My photographer and I just had a blast taking these shots because I always get a little chinky eyed and chuckly after a couple of rounds- thereby, making it very difficult to get a decent shot. Good thing, the photographer was my boyfriend. He's such a sport and he was tipsy as well.
I'm wearing one of my first Filipino-inspired buys, an Ifugao jacket. I've had it for a while and it's still a classic. I can pair it with all sorts of things and it goes splendidly with my new Crave More necklace. I like how gold and sparkly it is. Definitely, modernizes any outfit.

day 27
Still high from the Platform Show last night. Check out Team Manila's awesome photo set at the Daily Grind Clothing. The days leading up to the event were so crazy hectic, we're all lagging behind on our posts. This was actually taken last week. I can't believe I just have 3 days ago until the challenge is accomplished. Time for fresh blood to start wearing something Filipino everyday. Calling all stylish and courages camwhores! Let yourselves be known. Tweet us with the hashtag #posturaPH or join the Postura Facebook page.
