Genshin OC bios

Atoyac

One of the Scions of the Canopy, they're a guide by occupation - along with their Saurian companion, a Yumkasaur named Kelesio, they help people safely traverse the Coatepec Mountain. They spend all their free time exploring and bonding with the local wildlife. Their passion for understanding nature and ability to put that knowledge to use in a pinch earned them their Dendro Vision. When by chance they encounter another wildlife enthusiast, Ororon, the two click very quickly.

Arroux (Roux for short)

An artist from Fontaine who uses their Hydro Vision to create watercolor paintings as well as other art highlighting various social injustices. They are extremely well-versed in Fontaine law and a very public critic of its many flaws - after all, you have to know the law to be able to work around it without getting in trouble. Local authorities have received many a complaint about Arroux's installations, but always find everything in perfect legal order. Surprisingly, this is not how they ended up meeting Wriothesley; the two got to know each other by coincidentally frequenting the same cafe.

Kaveri

While their love of nature makes them well suited to their job as a Forest Watcher and teacher of Natural History, their frustration over red tape has led them to constantly getting knuckle-rapped for not following Akademiya structure. This eventually found them in the office of the Scribe, Alhaitham.  Unbeknownst to them, he was amused and intrigued by their ideas and devised a tangle of red tape denser than the jungle itself in order to keep them coming back to his office. Eventually he let them off the hook and asked them on a proper date.

Rhein

Born and raised in Mondstadt, their dedication to the study of magic earned them an apprenticeship with Lisa. Now that they’ve completed their studies, they’ve made a decent living for themself as an apothecary, always experimenting with new concoctions to solve various problems and traveling far and wide to find rare ingredients. One of those travels brought them to Inazuma, where a chance meeting at a marketplace reunited them with their long-lost childhood sweetheart, Thoma.

oh something I was wondering about with your genshin self inserts! I know you shared your thoughts before about how you think Rosario would work as an actual playable character in IDV, have you or would you like to do something similar for your genshin SIs too? :)

I'm also kinda curious how you'd handle it! Atoyac for example would definitely have some unique abilities just because they're a Natlan character for example, but since you gave all genshin SIs different names and settings (rather than just repurposing the same for each nation), would you also give them each different kits too?

YES omg tysm for asking!! i've been trying to figure out different kits for all four of them, and they're not very polished yet but i'm happy to share what i have so far!

Rhein: Hydro Catalyst in the classic sense - they're a witch and they use a spellbook. i really like the idea of them playing sort of like an Artificer, where they can throw different potions that they've made to cause different elemental splash effects over a small AOE, but i haven't figured out how that would look in Genshin.

Kaveri: Dendro, weapon undecided but probably a bow asldkjf they're a Forest Ranger after all! i want them to have the passive talent that lets them get close to animals. ideally, their kit would be designed to make hunting easier rather than combat XD so maybe a scattershot that can hit several smaller targets at a time? or something that stuns a small group so Kaveri has time to pick off a few before the targets flee, and then a targeted AOE for their Ult. this is just my Ideal farming character asldkfj

Arroux: Hydro Polearm wielder, their "polearm" being a giant paintbrush they wield like a staff. they use their Vision to power their paint for different effects, and i'm kinda shamelessly borrowing from Splatoon as i work on them bc paint as a "weapon" is such a fun concept :D Atoyac: Dendro, weapon undecided. i've noticed that the 4-stars from Natlan have similar abilities to their 5-star counterparts so i'm very loosely going off of Kinich for their kit, ie their fighting partly involves a grappling hook. i think it would be cool if they used their hook to yank enemies close for a close-range attack before kicking them away. their passive talent reduces their party's stamina used while climbing.

UUHH as random as it gets, also sorry to Rosario for not coming up with anything for you,,, not sure what you're more in the mood for yourself rn but I'm a bit genshin brained so that's what I got ideas for!! so uhhh

not sure if it was ever said anywhere, has Arroux ever seen an opera? is this something he's interested in?

also, are they interested in seeing Inazuma's various different islands, even if somewhat hazardous?

Arroux has probably seen an opera, but whether they liked it is totally dependent on what it happened to be about. knowing Fontaine, the odds are that it was glorifying the state, which they would not enjoy and probably leave a quarter of the way through if they could get away with doing so politely(ish). BUT if it were more of an "indie" production, and the subject was politically critical (maybe something like Les Miserables?) they would 1000% be here for it, in fact they probably did the backdrops for the production lol

Wolvendom is definitely Rhein's favorite hiking spot! they just love how wild and remote it is, and of course it's a great spot to collect Wolfhook berries :)

they would definitely enjoy exploring all over Inazuma! and equally they'd love experimenting to try to come up with various Electro-resistant potions (with varying success and no doubt some nasty shocks in the testing process)

Rhein is still kinda getting their footing in Inazuma. the closest thing they have to a friend is Itto, who definitely did the "Extrovert Adopts Introvert Whether Introvert Wills Or Not" thing, declaring that any friend of Thoma's is a friend of the Arataki Gang! Rhein appreciates this, but while they like and trust Itto, they're a bit slower to relax around someone and really consider that person a friend, and sometimes Itto can be A Bit Much for them in large doses haha

for sure, Atoyac LOVES painting both for ritual purposes and for fun! with the help of Kelesio they can manage to reach some pretty extreme places that others might not have been able to. probably unsurprisingly, most of their art depicts various Natlan fauna.

Arroux would LOVE to join Navia and Una in baking! i like to think that they're friends with Navia and therefore have indeed been treated to her various baked goods, and that they always save some to bring back to Wriothesley (who apparently made a deal with Navia's father to stay far away from her and holds himself to this)

to Alhaitham and Tighnari's unending dismay, Kaveri genuinely thinks Cyno is absolutely hilarious. they ALWAYS laugh at his jokes, and he's started timing said jokes to coincide with Kaveri taking a drink to make them choke (in good fun, ofc).

I wanted to do Atoyac next, but honestly Arroux called out to me.... but I guess this drawing was kinda self indulgent for me too hahah as a member of the Spina, I imagine Una ends up spending quite a bit of time around the fleuve cendre and its locals.... I'm guessing Arroux might as well given what you've shared about them? :O (this wasn't necessarily intended to be alcohol btw just for clarification! Una probably wouldn't drink a lot of it but if you think it'd fit for Arroux I wouldn't be against it)

Also important question. Do you think they'd have voice lines about each other.....

AHHH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH it looks so warm and cozy, like maybe there's a nice fire going in the background and the rest of the place is pretty quiet, maybe like it's late at night? the color palette is LOVELY omg and t suits Fontaine's atmosphere, imho! i love how relaxed they both are, they look like they're having such a lovely chat <3

i think Arroux probably would indeed spend a fair amount of time in the Fleuve Cendre, probably even having slept there when they couldn't afford a proper hotel. They don't like it there, as enclosed spaces make them anxious, but they would have a lot of connections there and I could totally see them offering their assistance to the Spina whenever the Spina is doing work around the Fleuve! they don't have much money, but they're always willing to roll up their sleeves and do some repairs or drive off ruffians! maybe that's how they could meet Una?
