It was almost instinct, the half-elven woman stepping in front of her dear Trinket, bow drawn back. Aimed directly for the dwarf’s head. “Back the hell up little man before my arrow finds a new home in your skull.”

Merle held up his hands but did not back away. He was not guilty of anything after all. He simply offered a wide and massive smile “Hey-ey. Easy. Ain’t nobody hurtin’ anyone,” he said softly before turning to Trinket and speaking in ‘bear’ to him.

“Hey buddy. You’re super cool. Could you take a few steps back, and show your friend that I’m not a bad guy?”

He then switched back to common.

“My name is Merle... I’m a Cleric,” his head gestured to the tattered “X-Treme Teen Bible” on his belt “-Nature Cleric. Birds. Bees. Apples on the trees?”
