got hit with a stroke of genius with a theme for chapter names in this fic (not truly mixed metaphors but incorrect idioms that twist the meaning of the original, like "madness to his methods" instead of "method to his madness" because the character has a habit of getting close enough to what something is called but refusing to call it the Actual Name, like he says "jueyun peppers" instead of "jueyun chilies" even after he's made aware he's wrong) buuuuut...

fear it's not going to be noticed or it won't be understood what i'm doing with it lmaoo

#i have a commenter who noted the work i put into researching a name though! so i have some hope!#but also this could be a “tetsu you're being too abstract” kind of thing #arrowhead fic #i really like the one i have for a chapter about mourning #it's “come rain or downpour” instead of “come rain or shine”#it's not “when it's good AND bad” it's “when it's bad and worse”#kinda mixing “come rain or shine” with “when it rains it pours”#i'm sitting on the classic “we'll burn that bridge when we come to it” but that one may get changed idk yet #also mixed “actions speak louder than words” with “a picture worth 1000 words” for one. not sure it sounds quite right tho

first hour of today's binge done and i got uhhhh a bunch of formatting fixed to streamline the process (still figuring out how to make it Work for myself on ellipsus but i think i'm getting somewhere but some of the default formatting is annoyingggg) and about 700 words on... the wrong chapter bc i got really into describing furniture

live-blogging my writing today because oh my godddd I need progress today and I NEED to fix my life schedule (it’s genuinely so bad right now like the insomnia has been Awful and my body wants to work on a 27-hour cycle so I’ve been getting shifted 3 hours every day IT’S SO BAD)

anyway why does windows clock keep counting even if you have it paused? Like I paused it during a break period but then I came back, hit resume, and it jumped from 4 minutes on the break timer to 26 minutes on the work timer like. what. just pause that’s like a core feature of a fucking timer dawg

Starting at uhhhhh mostly finished outline with a lot fleshed out, sitting at 3112 words of notes and snippets for ch2-6, I wanna hit at least three of my ch2 bullet points today, maybe like 3k words on the chapter (with 330 already done and edited)? Bean has 430 socks and I’d like to get to about 2k to finish off the kitchen sooo going all day basically
