“Hey, Kisaragi. I’ve got something for you.” Takumi’s gift for his son was nothing grandiose, but he had a feeling that Kisaragi wouldn’t mind too much. While searching for something to purchase for him, he had come across a pendant in the shape of a raging bear, a unique artifact that caught his eye immediately. It was unlike anything he’d ever seen, and he recalled Kisaragi’s tendency to bring down even the largest of bears.
When the shopkeeper noticed Takumi’s eyes on their wares, they explained that their charms were supposedly imbued with special spells that offered a variety of effects, including the bear pendant. “Supposedly, this thing gives you extra luck when you hunt,” he explained, turning the charm over a few times in his hand before offering it to his son. Takumi hardly believed such nonsense, but he knew Kisaragi would enjoy anything that improved the thrill of his hunt. “I thought something like that would come in handy for you.” Gently, he placed a gloved hand atop Kisaragi’s head, offering him a genuine smile. “Happy birthday, Kisaragi. If there’s anything you want to do with me, just name it, okay? Your dad’s here for you today.”
“Whoa, for me? Thanks dad, you really know how to make a guy feel special on his birthday!” The archer grinned in response, eyes shining with the gift bestowed upon him. He took the bear pendant in his hands, and stared at it, admiring its craftsmanship. The bear itself was pretty funny, as its eyes were angry-- it reminded him of when he faced off against the really huge bears. Of course, they never stood a chance for him!
The idea of it being charmed with divine spells in order to improve his abilities-- his father didn’t seem to buy that idea, but Kisaragi was enchanted with the idea. “Whoa, this gives good luck? Wow, I think my hauls are going to get much bigger, then! You better be prepared to see the results of today’s trip!” Delighted by his father’s gift to him, he decided to hang the pendant around his neck. Jumping up and down to hear it clack against his armor, he let out an amused laugh. “I like it a lot, dad! Thanks!”
“Eh? I get you all to myself today? Sweet-- hey, how about we go test out this pendant’s luck? Although, I think I’m already lucky enough when you’re with me... I’m really glad that you’re my dad! Come on, let’s go!”
