c. 2012 / so i'll wait for you, love. and i'll burn. will i ever see your sweet return?
c. 2004 / oh, will i ever learn? oh-oh, lover, you should've come over, 'cause it's not too late.
lover, you should’ve come over arrowverse reality
jason knew he could not drag her back to gotham. layla's time in star city had seemed to lift the curse of being a wayne off her shoulders.
he watched her laugh and grin so hard her dimples showed with her new friends. her apartment was small and colorful in a way that wasn't overwhelming. pictures of her adventures framed the walls. gotham was no longer her home . . . but had it ever really been?
he had yet to show himself to her. he couldn't bring himself to. in her world he had been dead for almost five years. she had no clue about his time with the league of assassins or slade wilson or arkham asylum or his time in south america.
could he let her live in peace without the burden of everything he's done? yes, but he would spend the rest of his days watching her breathe just to know she was okay.
