Day Dress | c. 1870 • • • The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened its doors 147 years ago today. The Met is my favorite place on earth. I have spent many many days wandering its galleries to clear the cobwebs in my head, to gain inspiration or to just relax. This dress from The Met’s collections, made in 1870, has always been a favorite of mine. I used images of it for a project in high school about deadly arsenic green fashion.
