Two days. It’s enough time between the invitation and the actual meeting to not seem desperate, isn’t it? Meeting. Might as well call it for what it is: a date. Not only that, but a date Akechi so generously obliged to. But the thief owed him; he already said so. It’s just paying a due then, right? Nothing more, nothing less. Not even that kiss shared between them. It’s not as if it’s been wracking the detective’s mind or anything.
It’s awkward to decline a cup of coffee from the boss, instead informing him that he’s waiting for Arsene. It earns somewhat of an eye from the older man, but Akechi is so good at faking being content, boss doesn’t seem to suspect much. Not that there is anything to suspect. It’s just two guys sharing coffee and conversation. Again -- nothing more, nothing less.
He thinks to text Arsene as he said he would, but there is that surprise element he likes so much. The detective could catch him off guard. But how off guard is it, truly, when someone is already expecting you sometime during the week?
