Hi, I have no clue if your the right person to ask about this, but as someone who has never larped, and dosn't know any one who larps, how would I get started?

There is probably a LARP club somewhere near you, because they’re all over the place. The kinds of LARP and when they run will vary—but if you google your general area plus “LARP”, you may turn up something. There are also groups that you can find on places like Meetup.com for LARP.

Most groups these days will have a website that talks about the kind of LARP that they do, how it works, and how to get in touch with them. If you email the organizers, they can probably get you set up and walk you through the process of making a character! Most LARPers are really excited about other people getting into the hobby.

If you’re in an area where you can’t find any LARP groups, there are some games out there that are designed for small groups, such as Out of Dodge, Juggernaut, and the Climb by Jason Morningstar, Viewscream (which can be played over Google Hangouts!), Doll by Josh Jordan, and 1001 Nights by Meguey Baker. Depending on where you are, you may also be able to find a gaming convention that includes LARP events.
