ART NEGATIVITY NEEDS TO STOP
You guys! There should be no more “My art is trash, I’m hopeless” and more “Hmm, I see what I can work on. I just need practice!” Positive redirection!!! Sure everyone goes through the point where we look at our art and think “Mmm, this isn’t how I hoped it’d be.” BUT DON’T PUT YOURSELF DOWN AND DON’T LET IT STOP YOU. You are ABSOLUTELY capable of achieving that style you want!
Take the compliment!!! Not only does rejecting a compliment feed yourself negativity, but your friends who want to see you succeed? There’s nothing more we can do; we just want you to see how much we care and enjoy your content. There is so much potential for you artists, but if all you do is wallow in that negativity? Then that’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Stop putting yourself down for the sake of others. Somewhere out there, someone looks up to you. But how did you think it’ll affect them if their idol doesn’t even believe in their work? And if you haven’t gotten that person yet, all the more reason to keep practicing and show to people how much improvement you’ve made; how far you’ve gone.
Artists, your vision is constantly changing, always improving. The last time you looked at your art work? Already do you know where you could fix it, and THAT’S SUCH A VALUABLE SKILL. It does NOT mean that others are going to look at it, and think “Wow, I’ve seen so much better. This artist obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing.” NONE OF US KNOW WHAT WE’RE DOING. It’s not a competition! Making art, and while I’m at it any form of creative arts, is about creating something that should bring you joy, and sharing that joy with others who will come to appreciate it and in turn be inspired to create as well.
Your art is not “shit”. You’re improving.
You aren’t “the worst artist ever”. You’re developing skill.
Be someone who inspires positivity, not self destruction.
