Arie gave me the word count, MissD gave me the subject and this is kind of what came out of it.
I wasn't sure what to write about Robots and then this little story popped into my head. Turret and Rick. Rick is a big of a bragger and a terrible flirt. But I got this idea of what if he got this weird fascination with a turret he saw on the assembly line and he decided to go 'save' her.
He...also over exaggerates...and fibs...
This is my written project for the Art Pact this week.

The facility was active but where she was stationed there was no one there. “Hello?” the sound echoed off the steel plate panels around the room, bouncing up the high vaulted ceiling. “Is anyone there? Hello?” the sound bounced and faded, there was no one there. No one to shoot at or anything to guard, she was guarding an empty room, standing in a corner. There was a knock and she swung her gun around to aim toward the sound. “Hello?”
She narrowed her eyes and aimed her gun at the shape that came around the corner. “Target acquired. Firing.” She opened fire.
“Aaaah.” The figure vanished back around the corner with a dive that took him from harm. She stopped firing and waited when there wasn’t a sound she took a step away from her corner. “Target lost. Hello? Are you still there?”
“Are you going to shoot me again, Gorgeous?”
“Because, can I come out now? Will you stop shooting at me?”
A head poked around the corner, peering at the turret sentry in the corner. Her stance ridged and her gun trained on the wall he was hiding behind. “I see you….”
“I know Gorgeous, I want you to see me, I just don’t want you to shoot me.”
“Rick, I’m Rick, Gorgeous. Can we talk?”
“Its’ not illegal to chat, Gorgeous.”
Here eyes narrowed as she stared at the figure around the corner, there was a smile on his face and one hand pressed and holding on the thing on his head. “Sentry mode activated.” She lowered her gun but kept her finger on the trigger and he waited until the red laser light vanished from the wall before he risked coming out.
He walked to the center of the room before she swung her gun up again. “Activated, target acquired. Preparing to dispense product.”
He blinked at her throwing his hands up. “U’oh, Gorgeous I thought we had a deal, I came out so that we can talk, we can’t do that if you shoot me.”
She looked at him, carefully and then lowered her gun again, aiming it more at his feet then at his heart. He waited and then smiled. “That’s better, Gorgeous, can I put my hands down now?” She nodded and he lowered his hands back down to his side before setting one on his hip. “Hey. Took me a while to find out where you were stationed, and then to get down here, quite an adventure getting through all your sisters and trigger happy brothers to find ya. I’m just lucky your brothers don’t know how to load a gun.”
Rick smiled, “I’m here to save you, Gorgeous. I saw you come out of the assembly line, and I noticed you right away. But they sent you off before I got a chance to talk to you and I found out you got shipped off way down here and I figured I’d come and whisk you away to sunshine and the great outdoors. What do you say, Gorgeous? You and I…have adventures together.”
“Hey, now! I’m serious about this, Gorgeous, your special. You’re different.”
“Yeah, I know you turrets all look the same, worse then that time I was with those Siamese twins from H.R. But that doesn’t fool me, Gorgeous. I can tell you from the others one hundred miles away.”
She looked at him suspiciously, his smile, his hat. “Come on, Gorgeous, let Rick save ya from the boredom. Come have an adventure with me.” Before she could react he moved over and swept her up into his arms. Her eyes widen, wrapping her arms around his neck to cling there. “What are you doing? Put me down.”
Her gun hand dropped to the ground and after picking it up Rick slung it over his other shoulder. “It’s okay, Gorgeous, Rick’s got you.”
“But I’m afraid of heights!”
He blinked, looking down at the floor and then laughed carrying her out of the room and passed the other turrets, fleeing from the gunfire with her in his arms.
