i originally made this piece in october 2023, but at that time, i felt very shy about sharing it—like an aspirational dream of something unachievable. like something i couldn't say too loudly. then, one year ago today (august 20, 2024), i had top surgery, and afterwards, i returned to this piece to revise and finish it.

sharing it on the one year anniversary feels fitting... even the most faraway dreams aren't as distant as they seem 💫🫶💫
