Hey, so I've been working on a self-improvement spell where I've painted a portrait of myself and added petals/feathers that correspond to traits I want to see more of in myself. I was wondering if you have any ideas on how to cast it, like I feel like it has a lot of energy behind it but it needs to be put into effect somehow. Thanks!

A few methods for this.
Method 1: an important part of the existence of art is for it to be seen. So put it in a window, even if only the birds and the squirrels see it, it’s still being seen, it’s still being noticed, the world is being made known of and acknowledging your intent. It’s like putting up a big traffic sign for change. This is always something I do in workings like these as a final step. Alternatively, photograph it and post it online. Just a photo, no context, maybe a title if that feels appropriate. Any notes, likes, ect. are also an added boost.
Method 2: get a few small candles (I’m talking birthday candles btw. They’re cheap and small and don’t take a huge chunk of time to burn) Melt the ends a bit to stick them on the piece in the corners, or where ever you wouldn’t mind seeing some wax on it. Use any number you think corresponds to your intent. Light the candles and as they melt, either focus on your intent/what you want to achieve, or create a chant to mumble/ say out loud as the candles burn out. Once that’s done, do method one, or hang somewhere in your room as a reminder.
Method 3 (fire free): Take any ingredients that you used, create a powder-y mix from them (obviously with petals they would be larger chunks but that is a- okay), maybe crumble up some soft pastel or charcoal, add a few drops of your paint water if you still have it, if not it’s okay! Once you have your powder made up, sprinkle it on the piece, let it sit in the sun for a bit or in moonlight. After a while, open your window or take it outside and blow the powder off of your piece, sending your intent out into the world.
Method 4: Use a corresponding incense, burn it over your piece and then blow the ashes off of it like in method 3. However, I recommend placing a thin barrier like some cloth to catch the ashes because some forms are much hotter as ashes then others and can singe your work.
Method 5 (fire free): Make a water from your ingredients (use hot water like you would a tea),let cool and then sprinkle some drops or put in a spray bottle and spray on your piece and leave by a window to dry, the evaporating water will carry away your intent. Alternatively, what I’ll do most times because I don’t want the look of my work to possibly change, you can create a basic “activation water” which then can be used to spray/sprinkle on your piece and let the water evaporate off of it. I’ll usually keep this water around as well to give it a boost every now and again.
You can use all of these on digital art as well, just print out the piece!
