Land and Sea #24 “Sunflower I”; 48 x 48 inches, oil on canvas. The sunflowers I grow are by happenstance. The squirrels and crows dig through my bird feeders dropping sunflower seeds as the rat; not allowing smaller birds a chance. From this sunflowers begin to pop up. It’s always amazing to see the black seeds form in the center. I almost never harvest them because the birds are good at picking through the center of the flower pulling the seed up. 💛 THE GARDENS OF ART - STEFANIA MAZZOLA, OASIS OF PLAY The eighteenth-nineteenth-century garden of Palazzo Betta Grillo hosts the first artist's residency of the Scuola di Sant'Osvaldo as part of the Distretto Santa Maria in Rovereto. From 22 to 28 August, attentive eyes and the brushes of STEFANIA MAZZOLA will scrutinise the botanical and architectural wonders of the Rovereto palace. From 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. each day, the garden will be open to those who wish to get to know Stefania's modus operandi, or spend the late afternoon playing chess or tasting the syrups of BioDebiasi-Naturalmente Bio. Just turn up at the gate at 66 Via Santa Maria and enter this garden that is usually only open twice a month. Come and play and learn about art in the garden!
