Summary:
Once I was talking to EmperorAlpaca about the parallels between Artaserse (the opera by Pietro Metastasio) and the Mingguang story. They said that Rong Guang would find Pei Ming committing regicide for him extremely hot.
The vignette here is based on this idea. Rong Guang is a prince, his father has just been murdered, and the suspect is someone well-known to him.
"Mi lusinga il dolce affetto col aspetto del mio bene" is a quote from Handel's opera Alcina, which translates "Sweet love beguiles me with my darling's likeness".
