Art at the Park

Sometimes we are blessed with the opportunity to go to co-ops where we get together with other families and partake in activities.  This particular activity was art at the park.  An awesome mom printed off pictures, the kids hammered in nails to make the outline, then they either went side to side on each nail (Munchkin’s Dolphin) or they wove in the middle (my ghost).  They brought two different options.  One was black foam board for those who were smaller and couldn’t function with hammers/nails very well.  The second option was a painted wooden block to hammer nails in.  Munchkin did the wooden block.  I tried the foam board just to see how it’s done.  (I learn better by doing.)  The end results were awesome.  Most importantly I see this as a fun way to learn life skills.  I think EVERYONE needs to know how to properly use a hammer and other basic tools.  This week we are going to the pumpkin patch with our new tie dyed Halloween shirts.  Can’t wait to wash them out and show you guys some pictures!
