I am just not doing well keeping this updated
life is just swell over here, normal every day paris life ya know...
reading in the Luxembourg garden after school...
fresh, warm croissant and/or baguette at the boulangerie everyday...
planning weekend trips to new places....
BUT REALLY ITS CRAZY TRUST ME I DON'T TAKE A SECOND OF IT FOR GRANTED.
this weekend was nice and lazy. I escaped to the Bois de Vincennes for a few hours (because honestly I really miss nature #citylife) the loveliest park/forest you will ever see with a huge lake and people passing in boats. it was just magnificent to sit for a bit in all the lush greenery. got some good photography in. but then it was back to studying, as midterms are this week.
my friend recently asked me if classes were hard abroad. the only way I could respond: they aren't necessarily difficult, but the problem is there is absolutely no where to go where you can truly focus (ie the law school library at chapman, you could hear a pin drop). even if you find the quietest, coziest, cutest cafe...do you think you're going to want to study there? no you're going to want to read an interesting book or write in a journal or JUST PLAIN PEOPLE WATCH. honestly every single place you go is distracting because it just makes you want to slow down and just enjoy. or explore! heck I'm only here for four months how am I supposed to focus on school work when there is like 143232 museums and parks and cafes I could be going to?? honestly, the french arte de vivre, it's really rubbing off on me.
xx
