Well, that was a pretty amazing weekend! 😁 I was able to get together with a good friend that I hadn't seen in probably 38 or 39 years. In 1977-78, during my final year of art school, I shared a studio with Brian Timmoney and Geoff Dean, two really good painters. After we graduated, Brian moved into a pretty amazing studio with Dan Sharp at 111 Queen Street East and I found a place for myself at 1304 College Street. In 1979, Brian and Dan decided to have a Studio Exhibition, and invited Geoff and I to join in. The photo below, is of Brian and myself in the Studio, just after we finished hanging the exhibition. The studio was in what used to be an old chocolate factory and today is The Ivy at Verity Boutique Hotel. Sometime later, Brian later left for Architecture School in London. Brian dropped in to visit me once, when he was back in the country. I think it was probably 1982 or '83. I never saw him again after that, until this weekend. In the meantime he has had a full and brilliant career in Architecture spanning a good part of the globe. I am looking forward to growing this friendship with Brian, his beautiful wife Jessica and his two wonderful children, Allysa and Aiden, now that they are back living in Canada. We spent some time together at the David Urban Exhibition at 13th Winery, and a wonderful afternoon together at our home and studio in St. Catharines! Such a treat to see him and meet his beautiful family!
