hello! i am creating a character for a roleplay server i am in who has Osteoarthritis. i was wondering, in roleplay, what times would be most appropriate for bringing up her pain and/or have her react to it. i have read that the pain can vary and i have her switching between crutches and wa wheelchair depending on how she feels that day/how long she is going to be out of the house. what descriptors would be best for her pain? my grandmother has described her pain as 'throbbing' and 'poking' before. do these sound appropriate for her condition?
also: what would be a good way of describing how she maneuvers when using crutches? ive seen some people simply use walked and other used something like swung or heaved. thank you!
Hello! Osteoarthritis is unlike other arthritis' in that it usually flares the most by the end of the day and with activity, where other arthritis' may flare in the morning after being sedentary. The character may react to pain when overusing or exerting the limbs the arthritis is in - is it in here hands, or knees? Hips, or spine? Wrists, feet, fingers?
Throbbing, aching, burning and poking are all words that I've used!
It's ok just to say walked to describe using crutches!
