Kogelberg Moss Frog (Arthroleptella kogelbergensis), female, family Pyxicephalidae, endemic to the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, Western Cape, South Africa

Described by science in 2017.

The frogs undergo the tadpole stage in the eggs, hatching as fully formed froglets.

Associated with the wet seepages, marshes, and mossy slopes of the Montane Fynbos.

Baineskloof Moss Frog (Arthroleptella bicolor), family Pyxicephalidae, Baineskloof Pass, Western Cape, South Africa

Max. length of 2.2 cm.

Eggs are laid in wet moss or other wet riverside vegetation. The froglets hatch from the eggs, developing through the tadpole stage in the egg.
