Did someone say KA2004 ot3? No? Too bad, you're getting it anyway! XD I went a bit insane and decided to paint the colors on this just for the heck of it even though I almost never do that and I think it came out shockingly well for being my first proper painting in about a year (although I have spent that year getting better at rendering skin in my usual style) Lyrics on the art and in the caption are from the Natalia Kills song 'Wonderland', which aside from these very specific lines has absolutely nothing lyrically or musically to do with King Arthur, but I don't control what music my brain decides to associate with Things. (considering a potential edit/animatic to her other song 'Love is a Suicide' which actually does have The Most Lancelot Vibes ever but we shall see if that ever comes to anything) Enough rambling! I hope the 3 other KA2004 fans out there appreciate this :))

Anyway this is part of a larger thing which is not done yet but I need to flail a bit so here's a sneak peak!! (under read more) Context: end of movie, slight AU, Lancelot and Tristan live :))
It is some time later, when the battle has truly been decided and the surviving Saxons driven off or captured, that Arthur finds them. His expression is stricken as he sees Lancelot lying still in her arms and he collapses to his knees beside them.
“Please, God, no.” He sounds on the verge of tears. “Not this.”
“He lives.” Guinevere reassures him. “But he needs aid, and I could not move him myself.”
Arthur reaches out to touch Lancelot’s face with so much gentleness that Guinevere again wonders how she could ever have missed the bond between them. Lancelot stirs under the touch, but does not open his eyes. He has grown feverish and sweaty as they have waited on the field and she fears that if he is not tended to soon, he may not make it. Clearly coming to the same conclusion that she has, Arthur flashes her a concerned glance and then slips his arms beneath Lancelot’s shoulders and knees and lifts him, only staggering briefly under the other man’s weight. Guinevere rises stiffly as well; her body is beginning to feel the strain of the battle and her arms and legs—not to mention her head—throb with aches. She picks up Lancelot’s twin swords and retrieves her own from the dead Saxon’s body and follows Arthur as he slowly makes his way back to the fort.
They are joined along the way by the other knights: Gawain, who is favoring his left arm and leaning on Galahad, who seems mostly unharmed; sturdy Bors is covered in blood and scrapes but standing tall and supporting Tristan, who looks half-dead himself. They have all made it, and Guinevere is glad—although she does not yet know them well. In the kingdom she and Arthur will build, they will be invaluable allies, but for now, they must tend to their wounded.
Here is what I came up with for @ka20th King Arthur's 20th Anniversary Celebration, prompt: home.
This is set in my modern day AU, as I wanted to do something for Guinevere, but movie!verse Gwen wouldn't speak for me. So I tried this, and it came out. Guinevere and Lance are siblings in this series, and while Lance is in a relationship with Arthur (whom they both met in high school) Gwen is in love with him too, and has had a contentious relationship with Lance her whole life. Their father is a crooked banker/mobster, and Arthur's father is a cop who's been trying to take down their family organization forever.
TBH, I'm not sure I like it. I'm not sure anyone else will, either. I'm a bit upset about it, actually, but I'm posting it, as I feel Gwen deserves a scene to herself, no matter if her scribe likes it or not. LOL Sigh.
