And here we have a tired, incredibly long and stupid joke about Mercenaries becoming Heroes
Soleil: Alright, that’s the last of those brigands.
Soleil: Heh, we sure did a number on those dastards, didn’t we, Papa?
Arthur: That we did, my girl!
Arthur: Ah, isn’t this a sight: father and daughter, fighting crime and bringing justice to the world…
Arthur: Why, it’s a greater sight than I could have ever imagined!
Arthur: You’ve grown into an upstanding young woman right before my very eyes. I’m proud to fight by my daughter’s side.
Soleil: Aww, thanks, Papa! That means so much to me.
Soleil: I always dreamed of working with you, too.
Soleil: Plus, all this heroing business REALLY helps with the ladies!
Arthur: I… beg your pardon?
Soleil: Well gosh, Papa! Did you see those girls staring at me when we were saving the village?
Soleil: I always love helping out cuties like them!
Soleil: Hey, do you think any of them would like to go out for tea with me?
Arthur: Is THAT your motivator? To score dates with pretty girls?
Soleil: I mean, it certainly helps.
Arthur: Soleil! That’s not a good motivator at all!
Arthur: A true hero should be motivated by passion, justice-- a cause worth fighting for! Not to--
Soleil: Oh, hey! I think some of them are waving me over!
Soleil: Sorry, Papa, but I’ll catch up with you later. Byeeeee!
Arthur: *sighs* She gets this from Laslow’s side of the family.
Arthur: Soleil, I want to talk to you.
Soleil: Sure, Papa! What’s up?
Arthur: My dear, I know you’ve been working hard to become a hero, and that you have all of the qualities of one.
Arthur: Well… I’ll be blunt.
Arthur: Soleil, I don’t think you truly have the heart of a hero.
Soleil: Um, Papa, what do you mean?
Arthur: Sweetheart, I think you have the all the makings of a great hero and more!
Arthur: But a hero has to be more than a strong will and a sword.
Arthur: A hero has to embody justice-- and be selfless in their cause.
Arthur: Wanting after material things, such as wealth or gifts, or even the attention of pretty girls, is not what a hero should do.
Soleil: You think that I’m only after pretty girls?
Arthur: I don’t think that’s your only reason, but--
Soleil: That’s not why I wanted to be a hero! Sure, I like the attention, but that’s not WHY I became a hero!
Soleil: I guess I’m still not good enough to be hero.
Soleil: Ugh! Just die already, dummy!
Arthur: Soleil? Are you available to talk?
Soleil: No. I’m training.
Soleil: A “hero” has to work hard, doesn’t she?
Soleil: Otherwise she might become some brainless skirt-chasing floozy.
Arthur: ...I suppose I deserve that.
Arthur: Soleil, I was far too harsh with you. I jumped to conclusions, and I hurt you with my actions.
Arthur: I shouldn’t have questioned your claim to herodom.
Soleil: Papa, do you want to know why I REALLY wanted to become a hero?
Soleil: It’s not because of girls, or fame, or money, or anything like that.
Soleil: I wanted to be just like you. You were always my hero growing up!
Soleil: I wanted to be just like you and Dad, and fight for you two and my little brother.
Soleil: Sure, I like the attention I get from cute girls, but they’re not my reason for fighting.
Soleil: But hearing my hero… not even just my hero, my FATHER… saying I didn’t have what it took to be like him?
Soleil: It really, really hurt.
Arthur: Soleil, I am so sorry. I should have never said such harsh things to you.
Arthur: I didn’t want to see my daughter become just another false hero who fought for vain things. But you’re nothing like that.
Arthur: I’m the one to blame here. What I did was cruel. A hero shouldn’t do things like that-- especially not to his own daughter.
Arthur: Can you ever forgive me?
Soleil: Papa… of course I can.
Soleil: And don’t worry; I do understand that your heart was in the right place.
Arthur: Even so, I suppose you want a new hero now.
Soleil: Are you kidding me?
Soleil: You’re still my hero, Papa. Nothing could ever change that!
Soleil: Uh-DUH! You didn’t mean to hurt my feelings. You just wanted to see me turn out right.
Soleil: You’re still my valiant, heroic dad, just like you’ve always been.
Avatar: Everyone! Attackers! Prepare for battle!
Arthur: If it’s not to much trouble, could I ask that you deing to fight by your old man’s side once more?
