Doors To Davy Jones' Locker by 95wombat Via Flickr: What might be waiting behind two doors on a derelict tugboat that's been sitting in the mud for a half century? I'll probably never know.

Rotted Hull by 95wombat Via Flickr: Hull of a small wooden ship, settled into the mud of the Arthur Kill. I would guess that it's a schooner from the late 1800s, based on its size and shape.

Ribs by 95wombat Via Flickr: The splayed ribs of a sturdy old sailing vessel reveal themselves at low tide in the Arthur Kill. There were a couple of good-sized crabs scuttling about among the timbers, their blue shells vibrant against the muddy brown background. Signs at the boat launch warn against eating them — their flesh carries the toxic legacy of past industrial activity along the waterfront.
