Colour the empty space
Kiss in a crowded place
Stand in the summer rain
Tangled in awkward shapes
A new, but familiar taste
You're feeling it all again
It's not wrong
To want the world for someone
It's not a feeling you can run from
'Cause we love who we love
So let go
You don't know better than your heart knows
Whether they're here or long gone
We love who we love
Yeah, we love who we love
Arthur's return... Arthur has finally returned, only to find that everything he once knew has been irrevocably changed. His kingdom is no more, and he is alone, save for the familiar presence of Merlin. As he looks at his old friend, Arthur is amazed at the astonishing transformation he has undergone. The once awkward and gangly boy has turned into a remarkably handsome and confident man.
MERTHUR - With every beat of my heart, my love for you grows stronger and deeper. I long to feel your warmth in my embrace, to hold you close and never let go. I promise to always protect you and keep you safe from any danger that may come our way. Together we will weather the harshest storms and stand strong in the face of adversity. I will make you see all the things your heart needs to know.
Merthur - As I lay here and watch you sleep, I can't help but marvel at your peaceful expression and the way your chest rises and falls with every breath. The glow of the rising sun illuminates your features, making you look like an angel. I find myself lost in thought, imagining the wonderful adventures we could go on together. The thought of sleeping and dreaming seems like a waste when I have the privilege of waking up next to you.
It's that time again. A fanart has triggered a whole series of events in my head. Also known as Kopfkino. I do not want to withhold the scene from you. Please enjoy!
Old habits die hard
When Merlin stopped and Arthur bumped into him, Merlin looked over his shoulder and asked, "Are you all right, Arthur?"
Arthur nodded slightly but kept looking at something in the distance. Merlin followed his friend's gaze.
"What's bothering you?"
Arthur swallowed, "Nothing, I guess. Everything looks so different. Even you... look different. I think it will take me some time to get used to... this new world... I mean, life."
Merlin smiled, "Don't worry, Arthur, we have all the time in the world. I will make you see all the things your heart needs to know."
"My heart?" Arthur repeated. He brushed Merlin's lips with a fleeting glance before continuing. "And what about my other parts?"
Merlin snorted, "Your other parts?"
Catching the expectant look on Arthur's face, he inhaled sharply.
"You don't want to discuss that now, do you?"
Arthur tilted his head to the side, "Well, we should have that conversation sometime. Shouldn't we?"
"Yes, we should. But not right now. Come on, let's go. It looks like rain."
Arthur looked up at the sky, "There's not a cloud in sight."
Merlin muttered a spell under his breath. Thunder rumbled in the distance.
"Merlin?"
"Yes Arthur?"
"Was that you?"
"I told you it looked like rain." Merlin could barely keep a grin from his face.
"Dollophead," Arthur said, slapping his friend on the back of the head.
"That's my word," Merlin protested.
"Aw, I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings?"
"Arthur?"
"Yes, Merlin?"
"Stop being such a prat."
"Merlin?"
The warlock rolled his eyes, "Yes, my lord?"
"Good to see some things haven't changed," Arthur said, putting his arm around Merlin's shoulders so they were walking side by side...
