I was looking for circa-1990 stock photos of food for a project and I came across this Corel CD from 1993 that looked like it might be promising. Well, unfortunately every photo on here is absolutely repellent and/or straight-up scary
Carrots in a mass grave for carrots, which is different from a garden it's a new thing invented for this photograph
Grilled chicken or maybe pork loin sliced up with zero attention to plating, shot with zero attention to lighting. This was on a disc of stock images you were meant to pay money for.
Something about the monochrome and the weirdly shallow focus makes this look like it's a glass plate from 1860. This is like an alleged photo of the ghost of a bunch of grapes
Two pies of different size entangled in a red bedsheet, with Chekov's Knife glinting in the foreground. I guess I'd license this if I needed a cover for a smutty romance novel about pies
Look I don't know if I could take a truly appetizing photo of some steamed squash and cauliflower and broccoli but I could probably manage better than this. This looks like a slide from a top-secret film about the treatment of prisoners in Vietnam
This is a pretty standard and competent "assortment of fruit" 90s stock image but somehow I feel a tension emanating from it. This is like a Sears family portrait of some fruit that was later convicted of conspiring to murder their neighbor
This one is blurry like the photographer was in motion while shooting it! They're peppers! They're not going anywhere! Slow down!
If I was taking a photo of some chestnuts with the ostensible goal of licensing it to someone making, like, a newsletter about chestnuts, I would get rid of the Eraserhead-ass chestnut opening its crusty eye at me before I take the shot
Okay, worst for last. A totally disorienting and upsetting photo of a huge pile of upside-down crabs, chitin and bug legs on display, angled in a way that makes it impossible to even tell how they're oriented. It feels like a wave of crabs is crashing down on you. Awful
Silence in the Mist — Peace on the Banks of Korana by Oliver Švob Via Flickr: Silence in the Mist — Peace on the Banks of Korana Somewhere between dream and reality, the mist wrapped the Korana riverbank. Three silent boats — each holding a story of fishermen, quiet walks, and peaceful mornings — rest by the shore. Leaves whisper underfoot, breath hangs in the air, and even the river seems to breathe slower. There’s no noise, no rush — only time flowing softly, like memory itself.

Oops, wrong file. Anyway, better throw that thing away... I mean the computer.
