Book Tag Thing

I was tagged by the lovely arthurrpendrragon :)

Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them.

Ah ok so I'll only tag a few people because I dont want to bother everyone XD Hmm, books that have touched me? That's a tough one. Like arthurrpendrragon mentioned in her post, some of these, but  not all, are my absolute favorite. It's a mix of favorites, nostalgic books, and books that lingered.

1. Harry Potter series (because where would we be without HP?)

2. Percy Jackson (these books got me through a particularly rough period in my life)

3. Fairy Realm series by Emily Rodda (these were my absolute favorite as a child, it made me dream about other worlds hidden in secret gardens and feel like magic was never far away.)

4. Dragonology (I know this is more of a picture book..but as a kid you have NO IDEA how much this book meant to me. I poured over that thing for hours. I was dead set on being a dragonologist and no one could convince me otherwise. It probably sowed the seeds of my dragon obsession which still sticks with me to this day)

5. Fruits Basket (This manga is what essentially launched me into drawing more, particularly humans, and lead the path to me discovering I wanted to be an artist after all)

6. The Neverending Story (I came across this about..7 or 8 years ago? I was in Budapest, Hungary for my mom's friend's wedding, and I had tragically read every book I'd brought with me. This was literally the only decently interesting thing to be found in the store on the one shelf of the fantasy genre that was in english. When I first read it I thought it was really strange and random. I read it again years later when I was more mature, and found it to be fascinating and unique. It has since become really beat up and well-used, and it's one of the most creative and interesting stories I've read.)

7. The Phantom Tollbooth (Read this for school, and the uniqueness and creativity really stuck with me)

8. Daughter of Smoke and Bone (The author has such a way with words it makes me drool itS SO BEAUTIFUL)

9. The True Meaning of Smekday (Recommended to me by the nice book owner guy of my favorite hometime/childhood bookstore, way back when I visited it in 2008. It's a quirky, hilarious, and endearing sci-fi story about a young girl named Gratuity and I love it)

10. Pretty much any book on mythology I've ever read ever (enough said)

Wow ok I probably spent way more time on this that you're supposed to, apparently I blab a lot when people ask me questions. Anyways, I tag my fellow Goodreadian friend ashdeniesreality!
