Hi there could you maybe do something where it’s like those compilation videos like ‘ Y/n and Arthur being the cutest couple’ and it’s like maybe y/n isn’t as smart and loves to listen to Arthur ramble and give his little facts. And Arthur thinks it’s cute and doesn’t make her feel dumb xx
it's been a week since tour :((( and all i can think about is them on tour together and being really cute and all soft and sweet with each other. like how liv went during the entirety of the podcast tour, i can imagine that yn did the same... i'm not really sure where this came from but i just knew i needed to write a little something about arthur being on tour and yn being there with him (although i do wanna talk more about tour!!!) but thank you for reading and let me know what you think! <333 word count; 4k. ** TRIGGER WARNING; A VERY BRIEF MENTION OF SEX **
"oh, arthur, you have to see this."
"see what?"
it's the first night home from the 'outta this world' tour; just a couple of weeks away from the comforting space that they called home in the centre of london, living out of their suitcases and spending each night in a different hotel, sleeping in a different bed and venturing in a new city. their usual routine having shifted into one that felt a lot more accommodating for the tour-life, not being the kind of routine where they could go about their day and then sit down and enjoy some time together at the end of the day where they'd debrief about everything they'd gotten up to.
there's empty pizza boxes on the coffee table and an open bottle of white wine, with two half-filled glasses on coasters beside it, a gentle glow of a candle burning its wick on the shelf above the telly. tucked underneath a blanket, in the comfiest items of clothing they could find that were clean and very warm, hanging down their bodies.
"it's a youtube video that someone has tagged me in on twitter. let me connect it."
it takes a second for her phone screen to mirror to the telly screen, bringing 'harry potter and the goblet of fire' to an abrupt stop, a paused youtube video soon taking it's place.
"it's a ten-minute compilation of me and you," she grins over to him, her cheeks flushing a bright pink colour and a look of adoration in her eyes as she makes eye contact with him, capturing his intrigue as he sat himself up a little bit comfier on the sofa, "can we?"
"go on then."
there's a quick five second introduction where the video plugs the channel who posted it and gives credit to those who were the owners of the clips used, before the first clip begins on the screen; a recent one, from the very beginning of the podcast tour in manchester.
"hi guys, welcome to tour vlog number one," yn introduces to the camera, holding one finger to signify the first day of the podcast tour, "we've just arrived in manchester-" "-which is red, by the way," comes a distant voice belonging to arthur, a prominent eye-roll coming from yn before she smirks in his direction, looking away from the camera to throw him the cheeky look, "what? i'm just telling it how it is." "everyone say hello to arthur," she pans her camera around to face him, trying her best to keep her messy suitcase and their clothes strewn all over the floor out of the shot (except she fails hugely and she mentally scolds herself for not tidying up before showing the world her pants), "everyone also wish him good luck. he's shitting his pants thinking about the first show tomorrow night." he's stretched out on the bed, laying on his back with his head pushed into the pillow, a tired look painted across his features as he tries to subside a yawn that had been screaming for an escape all evening. tracksuit bottoms on his legs, hoodie swallowing his upper body, hood pulled over his head. with it being a long day of travelling, all he wanted to do was to get as comfortable as he could in a bed that was foreign to him and fall asleep, cuddled up as close to yn as possible. "i am not," he retorts loudly as if he were a child protesting against his mother, a giggle escaping her lips as he sends her a frown, "i peed my pants a little when i saw the stage but that's completely different." she manoeuvres the camera back to show her face, "anyway, i'm attempting to vlog each day we're away from home. since arthur gets to go on stage every night, i thought i'd try and capture some of the behind the scenes so you guys can get a real feel as to how annoying he can be." "hey," he whines from behind the camera, "i'm not annoying." "i'm not really sure why i've chosen to vlog now. we have no plans to do anything tonight so it'll be so boring and most of this will definitely get cut. we've only just arrived at the room. it's nine at night and we're not doing anything but lounge around to try and regain some energy for the show tomorrow," there's a brief room change and the lighting changes, a bright flash before it adjusts to the sudden change, and she's shown in the bathroom, "i think i just wanted to introduce the vlog, say hello, a gentle start so we're not all guns blazing into the first show." she rummages around in her make-up bag for cleansing wipes and her face wash, the camera propped up against the wall so it could capture the candid moments. "when are you coming to bed?" "he's just spent all day travelling up north with me," she looks directly at the camera, "you'd think he'd be sick of the sight of me." "how could i? have you seen you?" there's a blush on her cheeks at the compliment and at his sudden appearance in the doorway of the bathroom, his previous attire being changed for just a pair of pyjama bottoms. bare chested, hair tousled and a slight fringe hanging down his forehead, "i could never get sick of you." he steps into the frame and stands behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and hiding his face into the crook of her neck, nudging his nose into the space below her ear. "talk to the viewers whilst i unready myself," she insists and he shakes his head, "they're going nuts behind their screens right now at the sight right here. giving the girlies what they want, they're thirsty." "you can't just use my naked body for views," he teases her lowly, the stubble on his upper lip dragging against the skin of her neck and there's a visible shiver that runs down her spine, "turn the camera off. come to bed."
and the screen goes blank, the room darkening slightly, and she looks across to arthur who has a grin stretched across his lips, his attention turning to her, "that night ended up being a good night."
"of course you'd think that," she snorts, rolling her eyes dramatically and prodding her foot into his thigh underneath the blanket, and there's a pause before she continues, "it was a good night."
"there's something about sex in a hotel room that just makes it feel even better. you can be as loud as you want. you got ravenous, too," he reminisces and she covers her face with her hands in a moment of shyness, "oh, you can't be shy now," he retorts.
"that's three shots! you said my name three times in that one sentence, christopher!" "nu-uh," a very drunk christopher dixon denies, stumbling over his feet in an attempt to step closer to yn, wagging his finger in her direction which she pushes away from her face, "we're on the same t-" he comes to a halt when he comes to the sudden realisation that his name just rolled off of her tongue, "wait a damn minute!" "no," she shakes her head with wide eyes, knowing she'd been caught but she was drunk... he was drunk... they were both off their heads so she was sure she could blag her way out of it, "i never said it. i never said your name. don't be stupid, stupid." "you're stupid because you blatantly just said my name," chris teases her, poking her shoulder before he lost all sense of balance and fell towards her, her own balance soon becoming non-existent as she fell to the booth behind her, elbow colliding with the table as she fell to the padded, velvet seat as chris fell between the gap of the seat and the table and collided with the floor, "jesus christ, fuck-" "there's no way these two can continue," arthur hill states, looking at the camera in john's hands, "and you guys think i'm the light-weight of the group. look at them," he points towards the two of them as they cackled and giggled in the background, "who the hell decided to put them on the same team?" there's no urgency to get them up and it's a while before they pop up from where they'd fallen, their heads spinning and their feet barely able to keep them standing in the same spot, the camera staying firmly focused on the two of them as they seemed the only ones giving content - the others being stood at the bar, watching it unfold, except arthur... who had only just appeared from the toilet. "what the-" "arthur!" yn squeaks once she clocked eyes on his sudden re-appearance, her arms thrusting into the air and she's almost falling flat on her face on her way towards him, tripping over a stool leg on her way, "i missed you." "i've been gone for two minutes," he reminds her, hands holding her waist, "are you okay?" "i bumped my elbow," she frowns, pulling away from his hold for a moment so she could show him a completely non-existent bruise upon her arm, his eyebrows pulling together in an attempt to see a single mark but not seeing a single thing, "chris is a really shit teammate." "i am not!" "you're not listening to the rules and that means we end up doing more forfeits," she turns her head and slurs her words in chris' direction, shaking her finger at him, and he reaches forward to flick her finger, "we can't lose more points. we're losing!" "you lost," arthur replies, keeping her steady as she sways on her feet, "pub golf finished an hour ago, silly." "oh," she looks at arthur before looking at chris, "we lost!" chris throws his arms up in frustration before he finds george a lot more entertaining, throwing beermats at him as he sits at the other end of the table. "i think it's best we head off home, yeah?" he's afraid to let her go because if he did, she'd be kissing the floor. she was swaying heavily in her shoes and he assumed the room was spinning around her as she could barely keep her eyes upon him. hiccups escaping her lips that he was sure she had no idea were happening and there was a tired look in her eyes, cheeks a rosy pink colour, with her t-shirt painted with speckles of beer, spirits, water and whatever shots they'd chosen as a forfeit. "no," she whines, shaking her head erratically, "i'm not ready to go home." "lovie, you'll thank me in the morning."
"i did thank you the next morning," she cackles softly, "i felt awful. that was quite possibly the worst hangover i've ever felt."
pub golf had always been her favourite video topic to watch when her friends chose to film one; she'd never been a part of one and she was always the one who would pick them up after they'd finished or would join them afterwards, when she was completely sober and they were all bouncing off the walls.
that is, until chris invited her to tag along when harry lewis pulled out last minute due to an illness he'd picked up.
the morning after was one she wanted to forget. her mouth was dry yet tasted like the aftermath of the evening, her head was pounding and her stomach felt empty yet she had no desire to eat anything to fill it up, her legs were shaky and her eyes stung at the bright light of the world streaming through the window of the flat. a hangover she wanted to spend in bed, tucked under the duvet with a blanket to keep her warm, a cup of tea to soothe her wavering tummy, with all the cuddles and snuggles she could entice out of arthur.
"you were worse than me and i'm always the drunkest on those video shoots," arthur laughs, reaching for his glass of wine and taking a little sip from the rim and yn copies, topping up her empty glass, "i think i felt some kind of protection thing, to be fair. it was your first drinking video and they can go pretty rough sometimes. i wanted you to be safe."
"i feel i was set up to lose with chris as a teammate," she admits and he shrugs, "he's terrible at his own video challenges sometimes."
back on the television, there's edits of the two of them from tiktok. some showing their silly moments, some showing their sweet times together with a soft love song playing in the background, from the early days of their relationship to now and neither one of them can tear their eyes away from it playing before them. instagram stories where she'd secretly recorded him dancing in the bedroom or singing as he cooked them dinner. moments where he was deemed 'thirsty' for her in her comment section whenever she posted photos to her social media.
there's videos of the two of them dancing at different concerts they attended together, completely in their own world and singing the lyrics to each other as if they were the only people in the venue, laughing and kissing in between the songs of the set, making the sweetest memories to look back on and tell all their friends about.
there's a video taken at the electric ballroom, in the middle of camden town, where they were seen on the balcony to the left of the stage in the venue before arthur hill was due on stage. drinks in their hands, free hands melded together as they kept each other close, standing amongst isaac and chris and all of arthur hill's friends from home as they held conversation, grinning at the sound of the loud screaming and intense cheering at the sight of the two of them.
"it's crazy, don't you think?"
"what is?"
she sets her glass back down on the coffee table and situates herself comfortably at his side, sliding her hand behind his back and resting her hand on his hip, head placed upon his shoulder.
"the reception every single time," she says, "wherever we go, whoever we're with, the reception is always so loud and incredible."
it was the one thing yn loved, yet felt slightly intimidated by, about being in the line of work she was in. it was welcoming, she felt like she was wanted and loved, and it made her feel so much happier.
"the tour was the same. every night, whenever we left the venue, they were there for you and isaac yet they made it feel like they were never there for one person in particular. the same reception for everyone that left the stage door."
"they love you," arthur reminds her, looking at her with a smile on his lips, "they love everyone we allow them to know. they love the team, our friends, our family. when autumn came on the stage on the last night of the tour, she was met with such an amazing welcome. she said it was the most incredible feeling."
their conversation is interrupted by another clip.
"out of the group of george clarkey, arthurtv and cam kirkham, who would make the best boyfriend?" "for who?" lisa looks around the room, and between the two guys sat either side of her, one being her son and one being arthur. a recording of 'mummy's boy' happening in the kitchen of her home. "well, i'm guessing for the one who sent this correspondence in," arthur hill retorts as if the question his mum had asked was one that was dumb and silly, "who do you think would make a good boyfriend?" "well, i don't really know them well enough to make assume who would be the best boyfriend. i'll have to say arthur, arthurtv," she looks to her left and gives a gentle smile to arthur as he thrusts his fist into the air, "only because he's here." "right, well," arthur pretends to feign upset before a laugh breaks up the facade, "i'd like to think i'm a good boyfriend." "are we allowed to speak about... you know?" arthur hill asks, a little trepidation in the words. even though they could edit out the parts that arthur wasn't comfortable with, he still wanted to make sure his friend was happy talking about his private life, "we don't have to or we could cut this section out." "yeah," arthur nods shyly, and lisa looks at hims confused, "i've got a girlfriend, she's called yn, known her for a while but we've only just started this whole relationship thing together." "oh, that's delightful," lisa congratulates, "you'll have to show me a picture when we're finished." "she's more interested in your life and your love life than mine," arthur hill frowns playfully and lisa scrunches her face up in pure annoyance at her son, "i'm the first and only arthur in your life that you need to be interested in, mother. okay?" "but young love, it's such a sweet feeling." "she's an absolute gem. really. she knew about me and what i did as a job beforehand and she just fit in perfectly. she understood my busy schedule, my filming routine, she helps me with some ideas," arthur says, "she's amazing. one of a kind. and she gets on with the idiots that i call my best friends so that's a win-win." "but we hardly see him anymore, mum," arthur hill smirks in his friend's direction, "he's too loved up. always at her house, never wants to game, never wants to come out for a drink. just wants to shag her all the time." "oh, arthur!" his mum retorts in disgust, "stop that. what they do in their private time is their business only." "i mean, he's not wrong," arthur says before his eyes widen, "in the sense of us spending time together all the time. not the... uh, not the shagging part. we do but- yeah, i like to think i split my time between yn and my friends. she's usually always there anyway."
"you were so in love with me then," yn teases him, poking his cheek playfully, "i don't think we'd said it by then, had we?"
he shakes his head in answer to her question.
the last few minutes of the video was a moment from the recent vlog she'd uploaded - the tour vlog. posted just a few hours ago. having spent the afternoon rewatching the footage, showing arthur some of the moments she'd managed to capture, adding in music and choosing her favourite parts that she'd filmed in the couple of weeks they'd been away from home.
"so, that's it. tour is over." yn pouts at the camera, adjusting her posture as she settle into the frame of her camera which was sitting on top of an unsturdy coffee table in the middle of the room backstage at the london palladium, hunched over as she rested her chin on her folded arms perched on the edge of the tabletop. "i've just come from side stage, the boys are getting themselves undressed and then i think we're heading out to a casino to celebrate," she explains, using the camera lens to adjust her fringe which had fallen out of place from her up-do for the evening, "it feels sad now. there's nothing exciting to look forward to now. we are back to reality and the tour bubble has popped." she takes a sip from the can of cider that was almost empty and tasted quite flat. "i'm so proud of them though. it's been such a hefty routine for the last two weeks and they've handled everything like champs," she looks towards the door and watches as some of the production team saunter passed as they wrap all their wires and equipment up to pack away, "it's been so surreal watching arthur on stage almost every night. he's doing what he loves, with the people he loves, doing it for those he is so incredibly grateful for. you guys, you made it all possible for him and i'm sure liv is saying the same thing about isaac in her own vlog." there's a pause, allowing her to finish off her drink, before she continued what she was saying. "i'm proud of him. and i love him. i love watching him do his thing and get such an incredible response to it. it's a feeling i can't even describe because there are no words," she laughs softly, tugging her lose hair behind her ears, "everytime this kind of thing occurs, like when they sold out hackney empire for their one-off night, it sets off tingles in my stomach. the good kind of tingles. he's so happy doing what he does and you guys are to thank and, as his girlfriend, i'm thankful for you guys because you let him be his silly self. you gave him this platform. and i'll forever be grateful for that." "god, you're being so cheesy. how much have you had to drink this evening?" george interrupts, poking his head into the room, "all good in here? you disappeared quick." "i'm just ending the tour vlog, wanna come say hello?" george shuffles into the room, his own can of beer held tightly in his hand, and he settles on the floor beside her. crossing his legs and running his free hand through his hair to tousle up the loose strands. "hello, tour vlog. the star of the show hasn't been able to show his face because, you know, the strictly schedule and all-" his feels an elbow jerk into his side and he lets out a cheeky giggle before he rubs the sore spot, "ow. that's not nice." "how did it feel to perform a dance for the palladium?" "mad. i still think i'm going to drop alexis when we do those spins and lifts," george cringes on himself and yn rolls her eyes, "no, i'm not kidding. it's a lot of pressure. think about how you'd feel if arthur decided to lift and spin you around and then apply that to being the one who does the lifting. that's how i feel when i get these new moves to try out on the dancefloor." "i'm excited to come see you, you know? we both are. got our t-shirts printed and ready for the night," yn grins widely; two white t-shirts were hung up in their wardrobe at home, both with george and alexis' faces printed in the middle with large letters spelling out 'vote' across the top. "number one fans, we are." "i've got you and arthur down in a couple of weeks. if i'm still in the competition."
"you heard it here, guys. keep voting george when the voting opens. i really want to meet alex kingston so don't let me down," yn teases and it's george's turn to elbow her in the side, "oh, and of course, we want to see george lift that glitterball." in the distance, echoing down the corridor, are bach and arthur's loud laughs and booming chatter and she decides this is a perfect end to the vlog. she lifts the camera up from the table, removing george from the shot, standing to her feet before regaining her steady hand. ] "guys, they're on their way back from the stage so i'm going to end the vlog here. i feel like you guys don't need to see all the emotional, congratulatory stuff because i've been soppy enough all evening," she laughs softly, "a lot of tears are about to be shed. as soon as he walks through that door, i'm going to burst into a cry so i wanna keep that from you guys. ugly crier and all." the anticipation is low in her belly and her hands are shaking; she's desperate to see him. "right, so, this is it. until next tour," she winks at the camera, "byeeee."
"this feels like a walk down memory lane," he admits, pulling her into his side and pressing his lips to the top of her head, burying his nose into her hair and closing his eyes in pure contempt, "i can't believe the amount of stuff we've managed to do in the last few years. and i couldn't be more grateful to have you with me."
there's a wave of emotion that washes over her and she can feel a few tears burning at the corner of her eyes, resting her hand on top of his and squeezing it softly.
"it's been a journey watching you just get bigger and bigger in the world of youtube," she says softly, tilting her head back and resting it against his shoulder, her eyes staring up at him, "amazing, too, if anything. from those faceless freakout videos to now, who'd have thought it, eh?"
"couldn't have done it without you," his lips press against her forehead and it's like an invite to snuggle just a little bit closer to him, his arm tightening around her, "love you."
"i love you the mostest."
"not possible," he shakes his head, "i love you the mostest."
