Inspiration : Autumn Winter 2012 Trends
Last week I spent a day soaking up information like a sponge from a training day with Mac. Today is spent processing that information! Here are the trends for A/W 2012. Be inspired!
RECAP TRENDS Autumn Winter 2012
Sense & Sensibility
This trend is all about timeless classic makeup done in a modern way! A red lip, a seamless flush of colour on the cheek, a modern and bare face and a fuller brow! "Translucent and luminous skin with a statement lip".
Products you can use to create it: Mac Cherry Lip Pencil, Gesso Eyeshadow, Lady Danger Lipstick, Brow Set, Shell and Pearl Cream Colour Base, Cubic Powder, Brit Wit Cream Blusher, Beauty Balm, Mac Pro White Pigment
Roam-antique
This trend is about a 'grown up gypsy' look - with bohemian spirit but more sophisticated. Desert rocks, sunset and sepia stains, driftwood browns and weathered tans. "Quintessential smokey eye, jewels, metallic and rusty lips"
Products you can use to create it: Mac Spice & Cork Lip Pencil, Coffee Eye Pencil, Root Cream Colour Base, Full Fuchsia Powder Blush, Taupe blush, Smoked Purple Lipstick, Carbon, Sketch and Club Eyeshadow, Smolder Eye Khol, Lip Conditioner.
Hone-Structure
This is the sculpting trend. It's adding depth to the face with shadows and creams. A nude sculpture face as a canvas for the brow. "A well sculpted face with a structured brow."
Products you can use to create it: Mac Lingering Pencil, Beguile Brow Set, Select Cover Up concealor, Mac Pro Lip Erase, Sculpting products, Transparent Finishing Powder.
Arti-Tech
This is the LINER trend! Our train described this as "if its a liner that looks anti- establishment it fits this trend!" Black liner creating geometry on the face.
Products you can use to create it: Mac Blacktrack Fluidline, Mac Pro Chromographic Pencils, brushes - 210 - for fine precision , 208 and 263 for creating angles and drawing precise lines, 212 for correcting shapes & lots of cotton buds! Be prepared to play!
THE DEMOS
We got to have a play with the trends in the form of watching a few trend demos and also creating the new Arti-tech trend on each other! Unfortunatly I can't share with you what products are coming out for A/W '12 *classified information guys* but I'll be pleased to tell you there are some amazing new things coming out! Lots of new limited edition autumn collections with real kit must haves if you're a mua & some really inspiring products if you're a makeup lover!
But for now, have a look at these pics for inspiration on the new trends!

Arti-Tech Trend :
I have to say I'm really excited about the Roam-antique trend! I'm going to dig out my binidi's and rusty pigments!
I also found this old makeup from a shoot I did like a year ago! Check it out! It's very "Roam-antique" ;-P
Here are some photos I snapped from the new A/W Trend Book *I NEED THIS BOOK IN MY LIFE!*
I also came across a lovely blurb on a Trend Masterclass. Check out these tidbits for more inspiration on Roam-Antique & Arti-Tech *taken straight from Mostly Sunnybunny*
Roam-Antique
"Below is Elke’s finished model. Besides the jewel-toned colors, she also deconstructed the shape she created with a Q-tip and makeup remover. (See the two white lines on the side?) Just in case you’re curious, Elke used In Synch Lip Pencil.
This is Rose Gold Pigment mixed with a water-based mixing medium. Elke used it on the model’s eyebrows
Metallic jewel tones will stay big for autumn ), as you can see in the pigment Elke used:

Mac artist Baltasar defined the word “edgy” in a very different way. He wanted to create something graphic, and he used a lot of his favorite product, MAC Blacktrack Fluidline to achieve it. He also mentioned a concept that revolutionized the way I look at makeup. You know how people always tell you to keep your lips toned down if your eyes are strong? Baltasar doesn’t see that as a form of balance. Instead, he thinks there is also balance in pairing strong eyes with strong lips. The lip shade is Smoked Purple mixed with Girl About Town.
*special thanks to BeautyJunkee for the pictures under the face charts!*
