so rather than doing deplorable things, like fishing or going back to dire maul, i decided that the easiest way to unlock one of the corrupted ashbringer appearances would be to do the holy artifact weapon quests, get the hidden appearance for that (much easier as it drops off random mobs), then do 200 world quests in holy spec ... yup, much easier than fishing

The Emperor’s New Groove

I think Artifact Weapons are both the best and worst part of the expansion. The idea of my Death Knight taking shards of Frostmourne and forging a new weapon to carry on the might of the Lich King is a super compelling adventure. The interactions I’ve had with my talking Mage staff make me wonder just how often I’ve overlooked arcane leylines beneath my feet, and I feel like I’m Dr. Strange. And then for some reason my Shaman can just pick up Doomhammer and also summon a second Doomhammer without effort and make Thrall go “Oh, dang, son. You keep dat, I’m good.” Digging into the lore of the world is so fun, but sometimes it just feels shallow or fan servicey, but that’s a whole debate on its own.
