Their world ended. Big fucking surprising. The lady explained a bunch of things and now he was breathing fresh air. Grass was lush, the trees bared fruit, there were people, and, above all... there was peace.

               “I... Huh.”

He just stood dumbly in a beautiful world. A surface without poison, untouched by the toxic nuclear war. Building stood strong and colours were bright.

Honestly, it was giving him a headache.

              “Man... You know who’d love this?”

And, exactly on cue, his eyes full upon the long blond ponytail of familiarity. His eyes grew wide then and he grinned childishly.

              “Tsubasa!”

With wide arms, he approached the blondie and immediately placed a hand on his head, grinning the way a big brother would to a younger sibling. (Or... a younger sibling would to an older one. It was hard to tell with this man.)

              “What, think you could get rid of me that easily? I’m way more annoying than that.”

didn’t cats have their own afterlife? why’d they have to follow people after their deaths, too! this cat, in particular, was quite a persistent fellow, running after the boy with a determination unseen in most of its kind. guess it really wanted his groceries...but he wasn’t about to go and just give it up to the nasty little creature. ranma saotome was a MAN, first and foremost, and a man did not give in to his fears! and so, of course, he ran.

there was only so much he could do when in the presence of a damned cat. down the sidewalk he went, the feline still hot on his tail. he decided he would end the chase when he spotted a bunch of crates blocking the way. he jumped onto the wall of a building and ran on it sideways, clearing the physical hurdle that would be a struggle for the smaller animal. unfortunately, careless as he was, he forgot about the grocery bag swinging around in his hand and consequently whacked it into someone’s head. he jumped back onto the sidewalk and quickly picked up the bag, relief appearing clearly on his face when he saw that the food was okay. hopefully, the victim of his carelessness was, too.
