HEY BTW I found your black to blue fic recently and when I tell you I sent it to all my friends demanding they read it with them all coming back to me screaming "IT'S SO GOOD" I'm not joking

The amount of screenshots we have of your fic now laughing or gasping at the writing isn't small. My friend Angel finished first and was so sad it was over till I told him no you got more! Alway ya you have five people including me loving your fic in a group chat. I'm so happy I read it thank you for your writing and I'm almost finished black to blue and scared at what blue to black is gonna be!!! But so excited thank you again

People need to stop asking fic writer if they'll stop writing a fic and sprinkling in "or what if you die?" Like whether or not they see the ending of a fic is the most pressing matter at that moment

i understand this is in reference to the type of anon ask i received and not directly @ that specific anon since they were not rude and it was me who brought up my death, but man alive agreed. (i've experienced some shit that definitely left a bad taste in my mouth..)

i believe the people who stress hard about these things are very young or chronically online. their world view is narrowed down to the sphere of the internet (and/or themselves), and they have nothing outside of it.

i really encourage people to get hobbies or go out with friends if they can. reconnecting with the world outside of the internet (in positive tactile ways; not work, errands, responsibilities etc) really helps one feel less reliant on fandom to stimulate those feel-good chemicals in the brain.

when all one has is fandom, it becomes their "safe space." everything that encroaches upon their little world is a huge deal and a personal attack upon them. when one has a life and things they care about outside of fandom, the little disputes don't matter.

it's so important to "touch grass" as they say these days. get some hobbies. go out. visit a museum. find things to care about that aren't fandom.

then they won't feel like the world is ending when someone doesn't update on time or if ao3 is down.

nah that youtuber is a panphobe. and just has shitty opinions all around. and is writer for a queer publication that is actually incredibly queerphobic and run by the panphobes at bidotorg. and wrote a tumblr callout post about me falsely portraying me as a malicious biphobe. and reblogs/interacts with panphobes on tumblr where the only posts related to pan that are shared are about problematic definitions/people/etc. i'd steer clear tbh.

How would one get started in questioning their otherkin or such??? I think I have questions but I honestly don't where to even start or what to ask.

My "questioning" tag, which has both posts talking about general advice and posts answering specific questions (and posts with people talking about their own questioning processes)

A list of typical experiences for various alterhuman identities (note typical, not required or universal)

A list of places to interact with other nonhumans, which honestly is the best way to try and learn what being ‘kin really looks like (because while “it means you identify as nonhuman” is all well and good for a definition, what exactly that means is not always crystal clear)

My general “kin resources” tag has A Lot in it, a lot of which is not going to be relevant to you specifically, but it's there if you want to peruse it

While I don't have a list onhand yet, I would also recommend trying to find writings by others with kintypes that are the same as or similar to the ones you're questioning, and comparing notes with what they've written. Websites are going to be a good place to do that, especially if the tag for your kintype on Tumblr is underwhelming - I'll recommend houseofchimeras dot weebly dot com (you know how Tumblr is with external links, sorry) and their Bookmarks page for a place to get started finding those. (Generally speaking, whenever you find a good alterhuman website, they'll likely have a Bookmarks, References, Further Reading, etc. page full of links to other websites. Find that page and go through it to find other good websites, and then rinse and repeat.)
