Spyro Week Day Three: Favourite Homeworld
Oh. This one is hard. But I already thought of it. But before I come to the exact post... People may be wondering about this already - why I’m only posting things about Spyro 2 & 3. Why nothing about Spyro 1? Well, it’s possibly because I played this game only in my childhood and haven’t remembered anything untill I played on emulator few years ago. This game didn’t make a mark on my life as much as 2 & 3 does. Also, I find Spyro 2 and 3 more complex game. Levels, characters, etc - all improved. And I don’t really know the Spyro 1 levels that much. I remember things, but not as a whole. Only some levels, without even a name.
But going back to the quintessence of the post... I like Summer Forest. This world is just as plain as it could be. I love the simplicity of this homeworld, linked with not-really-that-hard-now riddles and secrets. I love that there are like 2 mine areas in this world. Like the one with Moneybags, wishing You to pay him for the swimming lesson, and the second one, that You need mentioned swimming to go there with Sunny Beach and Hurricos for example. Also, it has the most memorable levels. I’m not saying the best, but Sunny Beach is the level that I associate with Spyro the most. I dunno why, maybe because it was hard to get to the ladder for me as a kid?
Second homeworld will be Autumn Plains. This is the most beautiful world in entire series, can You agree? Maybe because it’s autumn there and autumn has beautiful colors. The world was very peaceful, but had some dangarous areas too. Like the wall, that You could fall of from. And tha secret terrace was just splendid. I love the music, colors and the views from that world. It’s just so majestic. What can I add? It’s just so amazing.
The next is Evening Lake from Spyro: Year of the Dragon. This world is unique. Putting it on lake was just awesome. Most of the world is underwater and it’s so awesome. Some kind of tower and ruins, sunken by a lake. Nothing more to say. Just another great homeworld.
Midnight Mountain. The world has beautiful night sky and is kind of floating island. It’s not as great as the rest, but I think it’s still nice homeworld. The color mix makes this world kind of unique with purple, deep pink and emerald green as the main colors. And few shades of blue. I know it’s probably not a floating islands but just mountains’ peaks linked together with bridges, but it makes You feel like You just float in the air :)
And the BONUS: Artisans Home. I was thinking about putting this level and eventually decided to mantion it here. The level is even simplier than Summer Forest. But it makes something special. This is peaceful village, so it’s enough to be just like that. Also the waterfal riddle was awesome. I was so proud when I just jumped on the stones for fun and reveal the secrets behind it :D Nobody else knew about that in that time and I was the only one who did it. I generally like the main area of this level with side ways being... I can’t say I like them. But the homeworld itself is pretty nice :)
