Artisphere 2025
So I headed down early this morning (9:30 a.m.) to one of my favorite Greenville events - Artishpere. I'm not a big crowd person, so I try to visit the booths early on Saturday to avoid the crowds that amass as the day progresses. By mid- to late-afternoon - between all the people/families, baby strollers, pets, etc. - it becomes something like a version of human bumper cars.
The event is advertised as opening at 9:00 a.m., but by the time I started making my rounds at 9:30 a.m. some of the booths still had not opened. While I found this disappointing, the weather was overcast and it looked like it might rain...so maybe those artists had a hard evening and just decided to sleep in. I always find the event to have an interesting variety of artists and mediums - enough for anyone to enjoy.
Some of my favorites from this year's show were:
Keith Grace (Mixed Media - Booth 336) - Keith is one my all time favorites and I try to visit his booth every year to see what new and interesting pieces he's created. One day I will own a piece of his art!
Signe and Genna Grushovenko (Painting Oil/Acrylic - Booth 335) Another regular exhibitor that I absolutely love. Just like Keith Grace's work, I will own a piece of their art one day!
Sharon Tesser (Fiber - Booth 501) Interesting artworks created with a variety of cloth (recycled, vintage and hand dyed).
Stephen & Bonnie Harmston (Printmaking - Booth 327) Beautiful hand-pulled serigraphs of nature, landscapes and more.
Kent Ambler (Printmaking - Booth 312) Gorgeous wood cut prints of a wide variety of scenes and objects.
Clifton Henri (Photography - Booth 329) Stunning images composed from "focusing on portraits of Black and Brown people and the environments they live in".
There are many, many more booths worth visiting and exploring. As the old saying goes "Beauty [art] is in the eye of the beholder" and these were the artists with creations that particularly appeal to me.
