I just sold four of my beauties in just a couple of days! I cannot express how much this means to me 🥰 I am so grateful and honored to have such a strong community of supporters who believe in me and my message! If I chose to stay with my abuser on April 4, 2012 you would not be seeing any of my art because I would be dead. This is not an exaggeration, it is reality! We see so many people every single day that loose their lives to Domestic Violence and I could have easily been a statistic. I’m really fond of this piece. It’s called “dog gone,” and is a love letter to all the wonderful dogs that have graced my life. Here’s a detail. It’s an 11x14” #monotype with #mixedmedia that is one of four I’ve submitted to @featherstonecenterforthearts for the Dog Wild show. It opens this Sunday and I believe there will be some four footed attendees at the reception!! So glad to have a place to show this nine foot-long “song quilt.” I made it a few years ago as part of Sally Taylor’s Consenses project in response to a song written by Mark Simos. It will be up at the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center until February 5. Many of the fabrics were printed from my Monotypes. And tonight I start an eight week Monotype course @featherstonecenterforthearts! I really mean it when I say all levels of experience are welcome (especially people who think they “can’t make art…”) It’s bright and lively.
