Flutter (2011)

Flutter  is an interactive installation project created by Dominic Harris and his fascination with butterflies and their intricate flight motions. Composed of 88 monitors coupled back-to-back and attached perpendicular onto a mirrored surface in a linear formation, Flutter gracefully interacts with the motions of a nearby participant. As motion is captured from the participant, the butterflies react in a wave-like motion. The more one ‘plays’ with the butterflies across the screens, the more interaction is experienced. Flutter represents the uniqueness and beauty of the butterflies’ patterns and motions, the same uniqueness and beauty found in the simplest of forms all around the world.

Encounter (2007)

Inspired by our physical and psychological experiences, Encounter is an interactive installation project collaborated by Bonnie Mitchell and Elainie Lillios. Combining tranquil audio with peaceful visuals, this project immerses a participant in mediation and transformation. The participant is first surrounded by an overwhelming visual world of many images, then is greeted by a spiritual being represented in human form. This ghost-like figure then asks thought-provoking questions in which the participant is to contemplate over during his/her experience. Encounter represents a world in which any individual can reflect on life's mysteries. This project provides a new perspective on the modes of mediation and reflection.

Collected Remembrance- Fieldart in Shinjuku (2009)

Collected Remembrance-Fieldart in Shinjuku is a project in which the artist, Yasushi Noguchi, interviewed local residents about the structures that disappeared with time and the historical incidents that happened in that area. With the data collected, he reconstructed them in a time-space mapping system that is projected on a large video projector at Okubo Park in downtown Shinjuku. Historical photos of Shinjuku, which is a place consisting of modern skyscrapers and traditional architecture, were also collected to bring an almost virtual reality experience. Participants walkthrough a time and space map using a custom made controller interface to see the collected photos and listen to the stories of the local residents. The artist also has two other similar projects in two other locations including Yatsuo, and Koaira.

Power Plant (2011)

Power Plant, previously shown in Britain, Australia, and Hong Kong, is an art installation project that invites participants to interact in an outdoor environment. It is a collection of musical sounds, and light that forms a night time journey for participants to explore. The installation uses video and electronic sounds to examine the relationship between sound, light, and the environment.
