it's that time again...thanks to everyone who bought INFOMOCRACY last quarter, I just donated $63 to Accountability Lab (plus processing fee on me). Every quarter before I donate I ask the orgs if there's anything special they're fundraising for, and this quarter I got to donate to Accountability Lab's Arts4Change program. Love supporting this!
I do this both because I am grateful to be able to earn money doing what I love, but also because I want to connect my fiction to the people doing the work in the real world. I've written more about that, and the choice of organization, here.
And by the way, the reason I talk about this every quarter is not to puff myself up, but because I've intentionally chosen organizations that are less well known. 10% of my book earnings is barely noticeable for a large non-profit, so I hope I can add to it by making more people aware of cool organizations doing interesting things in sectors that are probably relevant for anyone who likes my books.
