The thing about understanding is it works both ways. The thing about not being understood/ not understanding, is it illicits rebellion.

Try to understand things. Try to help and elevate situations instead of creating negative spaces.

Understanding invites understanding. Listening invites love. Showing up even more so.✌🏽

I’m so real about never being understood by my audience here. People aren’t very good at listening and observing, giving time to the obscure, giving time to humour and play. Giving time to absurdity.

No one has time for absurdity. Definitely the quintessential misunderstood artist. Hard to care about others’ feelings when they don’t care to see things differently, when they don’t care to see the line drawn. Appreciate the pretty, the ugly, the plain, the chaotically extravagant. It’s a constant battle. Every piece of art is a constant struggle to be seen, to be acknowledged.

It’s sad.

Only certain kinds of delicious today. Chopping onions so far so as an artist. Trying to chop them finely. Diced, julienned. I’m far away from making a roulade. Or using the burner. Soup kitchens to fine restaurants. Sous chef. Creativity is necessary for the burst in scene. A display of true talent, a display of true heart, a display of fervour, flavour, valour, powder blue. Imagine the dish, draw it.
