EPOCH Sneak Peek - via Twitch
I’ve been holding on to a large box for the entirety of the pandemic. It became of symbol of artistic possibility, a partner with which to improvise during the endless days and nights of urban quarantine. With quarantine behind us (for now), it’s time to part ways.
The box came from Malaysia, likely from a factory, across the ocean in a dark container. Then it spent months in my Oakland apartment. The least I could do was give it a proper send off. In nature, surrounded by beauty, with all the time in the world, we shared one last dance, and said goodbye.
The result will be streamed as part of Choreographer Christy Funsch’s 12-hour EPOCH, a slow tv-like experiment featuring recorded and live contributions by 14+ artists.
