Made stuffed peppers for the first time today. 04/16/19 Corresponding with my new pen-pal, I got some great advice on art marketing. Learned about SEOs which stands for Search Engine Optimization, basically how to properly tag your artwork using popular phrases people search for. She said it helped increase her sales from 1 a month to 10! Surviving creatively means running a small business, which means you gotta stay on your toes, learning new things and being adaptable. Overcome your weaknesses and optimize your strengths. Popular #artscam, I’ve been warned about this sort of email before thanks to the supportive community of artists I respect. I guess I’m kinda flattered it’s relentlessly making its rounds to me as I have 3/4 of these in my junk box. I check my junk box daily just because there have been times when something legit does end up in there. I have been lucky to never have fallen for any. My tip is if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If the person contacts you in bad English, or with a weird email address, or urgently wants the transaction to happen quickly, strict rules about how they would like to pay and not purchasing through a third party legit website, these are all red flags. When in doubt google the contact for possible involvement in an art scam, artists are great at ratting these people out in supporting each other.
