But when I first began work on it I noticed a tear in the wing. I decided that the tear was not really visible so I continued and then permanently sealed the locket. However, when I came back to it the next day, the tear in the wing was distractingly obvious. How did I not notice that? What a waste of my time and effort, I thought. So I picked it up to put in a junk pile and noticed that the tear seemed to disappear. That’s when I realized the tear was only visible at certain extreme angles and only when trying to see it. Suddenly I felt humbled. Such a profound message gifted to me by this tiny little creature. I began to think... from the start I knew there was a tear in it and I still found it good enough to use as long as no one saw the tear. Because I knew that it was just a superficial blemish that did not compromise the integrity of the rest of it. Meaning the tear would not get worse or that the butterfly would not fall apart because of one tiny tear. Yet when I felt like people could see the tear, I was ready to give up on it and consider it a piece of junk instead of the treasure I worked hard to create. And the fact that I could only see this imperfection when holding it at extreme angles while looking for it reminded me of the things that unhappy people do to keep themselves from finding peace. Wow! This double-sided locket features a male Acmon Blue butterfly adorned with a watch gear on one side and a watch jewel on the other. One side of the locket is lined with sparkling rhinestones for when you want to feel glamorous. #averoseart #averosejewelry #butterflylover❤️ #artthatteaches #symbolicartwork https://www.instagram.com/p/B8hiaUyju_p/?igshid=2dbn76u46zfh
