sometimes i think about artur dmitriev jr and how he was not only nuts enough to attempt a 4A in competition before anyone else but also did a 3Lz+3F. not a 3Lz+1Eu+3F, which many skaters have done. the lutz lands on a different edge and foot to how the flip starts.

There is nothing more chaotic than 29-year-old Artur Dmitriev switching feds earlier this year and then flinging himself into the air for a quad axel attempt at his first US NATS. Absolutely incredible.

“Yuzuru has attempted and will probably be the first man to land a quad axel and he deserves all the credit and praise he has and will receive from it, but please don’t sleep on Artur Dmitriev Jr. either because he attempted it a while back and deserve to be recognized for his attempt as well. This is a breakthrough in the men’s discipline and soon enough there will be the a lot of the next generation of male skaters doing this jump.”

Artur Dmitriev Jr has withdrawn from Russian Nationals due to health issues and has been replaced by Gleb Lutfullin.

Roman Savosin has also withdrawn, and has been replaced by Vladislav Katichev.

Natalia Zabiiako and Alexander Enbert have withdrawn due to Enbert's continued health issues and have been replaced by Taisiya Sobinina and Nikita Volodin.

Diana Mukhametzianova and Ilya Mironov have withdrawn and have been replaced by Polina Kostiukovich and Dmitrii Ialin.
