Have you read Road to Redemption? It's a really good one though the updates have been very infrequent for the last while now. The author has been busy with work and college and stuff. Still highly recommend!

Now I'm thinking about those stories where a toppat (usually Henry/Burt/Sven) kinda takes pity on Dave. Usually there's sections of time like stages

1. He's a prisoner, don't care. 2. He's a prisoner but it's kinda sad to watch. Can't do anything about it. 3. I should at least give him this common courtesy. 4. Okay I'm his friend now. 5. I gotta break him out

So between stages 2 and 4 said person would notice Dave's anxiety over the passing of time and make a habit of stating the time of day anytime they pass by Dave.

"11:43 am," he'd say in passing, moving quick without looking at first. Then, "6:07 pm, June the 10th," said with an apologetic smile directed at Dave. Then, eventually, "1:25 am, September the 27th. I couldn't come to see you till now, everyone's asleep."

(After a moment, the bounty hunter snorts, taking his weapon in both hands again.)

???: Alright then, kid. I’m tired of waitin’ around. Just gimme one moment before I grab ya.

(He turns towards Thomas, who started trembling again. He prepares to swing..)

(But Henry leaps into action. The movement causes the hunter to instinctively turn around and-)

(Henry quickly dropped to the ground after the hit connected with his arm - he wasn’t quite sure what had happened to it, only that it hurt. A lot.)

(Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Thomas getting up while his assailant was distracted, bolting in the opposite direction. The bounty hunter didn’t even look surprised with what happened.)

???: ...Fucking idiot.
